Attainment of Seniority. 3.1.1 There exists a ninety (90) calendar day probationary period for each staff person beginning with the most recent date of hire. If a staff person is terminated during this probationary period, such terminations are not subject to Article 15 of this Agreement. All staff shall attain seniority after ninety (90) calendar days with PCC. 3.1.2 Upon completion of this period, seniority shall date back to the most recent date of hire.

Attainment of Seniority. Each newly employed nurse shall be deemed a probationary nurse during her or his first one hundred twenty (120) days of continuous employment, subject to an extension not to exceed an additional ninety (90) days. The nurse shall not acquire any seniority status until completion of her or his probationary period. Such extension shall be documented, including the reason(s) for the extension and the action(s) required to correct the problem. Upon completion of the probationary period, a nurse’s seniority shall then date back to her or his date of employment in a bargaining unit position. In the event that a newly employed nurse is absent from work during said probationary period, the probationary period shall be extended by the number of days that the nurse is absent.
