Common use of Regular Day Off Clause in Contracts

Regular Day Off. When a holiday falls on a regular assigned day off for a permanent employee, such employee shall either be compensated by the addition of 7.5 or 8 hours to the employee’s compensating time balance or by the payment of an additional 7.5 or 8 hours straight time for that pay period depending on the employee’s basic work week as defined in Article 22.1(a). Employees who wish to take the day after such holiday off, rather than receive such compensation, shall be permitted to do so whenever possible.
