Common use of Reporting Absences Clause in Contracts

Reporting Absences. Employees are required to attend work regularly. When unable to attend, the employee must contact his supervisor as far in advance as possible of his/her scheduled start time, giving the reason he/she is unable to attend work, date of his/her expected return if known, and the details as to where he/she can be contacted during his/her absence. If the employee cannot contact his/her supervisor he/she must leave a recorded message with the required information. An employee is required, if requested by the Company, to substantiate the reasons for any absence. An employee is required to maintain regular contact with the Company throughout his/her period of illness or impairment and recovery.
