Common use of Reporting of Absence on Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Reporting of Absence on Sick Leave. If an employee is absent for reasons that entitle him/her to sick leave, the Shift Commander on duty or his/her Commander shall be notified in accordance with the Department’s rules and regulations. Failure to so notify his/her Shift Commander may be cause for denial of the use of sick leave for that absence and constitute cause for disciplinary action. Absence without notice for five consecutive days shall constitute a resignation not in good standing.
