Common use of Reserve Duty Clause in Contracts

Reserve Duty. Upon advance notice to the principal and/or the Manager of Environmental Services, any employee who is a member of one of the reserve components of the armed forces of the United States and who is required by reason of such affiliation to attend a summer camp, take a cruise, or otherwise participate in a reserve function during the employee's contract period, shall be excused at full pay for the purpose of fulfilling this responsibility. This leave shall not exceed fifteen (15) consecutive school days in any fiscal year. The employee shall be obligated to refund to the district any compensation received from the government for such military leave less the travel allowance paid by the government.
