Common use of Resident Educators Clause in Contracts

Resident Educators. a. Resident Educator Mentors will be assigned to Resident Educators in accordance with Ohio Resident Educator Program to provide mentor support for Resident Educators in years 1 and 2. Resident Educator Mentors must minimally have (1) a five (5) year Professional license, (2) five (5) years of teaching experience, (3) recent classroom experience within the last five (5) years, and (4) successfully completed state-sponsored mentor training (i.e., Resident Educator – 1 and Instructional Mentoring). b. Resident Educator Lead Mentors will be assigned to Resident Educators in accordance with the Ohio Resident Educator Program to provide Lead Mentor support for the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) for Resident Educators in years 3 and 4. Resident Educator Lead Mentors will be experienced, licensed, educators who understand the content and processes of the Resident Educator (RE) Program and who have completed ODE’s required online, two-hour Lead Mentor Training. c. Resident Educator Mentors and Resident Educator Lead Mentors may be assigned from either the SHTA teachers bargaining unit or the SHTA-ST support teachers bargaining unit.
