These includes processes to equip, train, and provide other resources needed to ensure healthcare workers at the highest risk for adverse exposure, illness, and injury, are adequately protected from all hazards during response and recovery operations.

Responder Safety and Health. ‌ Introduction‌ The responder safety and health capability refers to the ability to protect public health responders by identifying safety and health risks; providing medical countermeasures or personal protective equipment; facilitating risk-specific training; and monitoring responder health. Implementing these activities enables health departments to ensure that public health responders are medically fit, appropriately trained, and monitored for potential adverse health effects, if needed.
Responder Safety and Health. Although the HPP FOA requires that all hospitals and HCCs participate in at least one regional or statewide exercise over the 5‐year grant period, an HCC must identify each year whether the HCC and its members have participated in an exercise or an event. The HCC is strongly encouraged to participate in a yearly exercise or event if the opportunity arises. If there was no event or exercise, it must score ‘No’ because of no opportunity (Score = 5). The responder safety and health capability describes the ability of healthcare organizations to protect the safety and health of healthcare workers from a variety of hazards during emergencies and disasters. The goal is to assist healthcare organizations to ensure that no illnesses or injury occur to any first receiver, medical facility staff member, or other skilled support personnel as a result of preventable exposure to secondary trauma, chemical or radiological release, infectious disease, or physical and emotional stress after the initial incident or during decontamination and incident follow-up. To integrate this capability, public health and healthcare emergency planners should coordinate how best to address public health and healthcare worker safety needs during the development of strategically placed caches of equipment, supplies and pharmaceuticals that would provide timely resource assistance. This is specifically outlined in the functions of Capability 14 from the Healthcare Preparedness Capabilities and cross- referenced to the Public Health Preparedness Capability.

  • SAFETY AND HEALTH 20.1 The Employer, employee and Union have a significant responsibility for workplace safety and health.

  • ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY AND HEALTH PROTECTION (a) Seller shall perform this Agreement in a manner that ensures adequate protection for workers, the public, and the environment, and shall be accountable for actions of itself and its lower-tier subcontractors, agents and employees. Seller shall exercise a degree of care commensurate with the work and the associated hazards. Seller shall ensure that management of environment, safety and health (ES&H) functions and activities is an integral and visible part of Seller’s work planning and execution process. In the event that Xxxxxx fails to comply with this Agreement, Company may, without prejudice to any other legal or contractual rights, issue an order stopping all or any part of the work; thereafter a start order for resumption of work may be issued at Company’s discretion. Seller shall make no claim for an extension of time or for compensation or damages by reason of or in connection with such work stoppage. In addition, Company may require, in writing, that Seller remove from the work any employee the Company deems unsafe, incompetent, careless, or otherwise objectionable.

  • OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH The parties desire to deal with safety and health complaints, and to attempt to correct any health or safety violations, internally. Accordingly, neither the Association nor an employee may file a complaint alleging a health or safety violation with the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to R.C. §4167.10 until the following process has been completely exhausted:

  • Occupational Safety and Health Acts Contractor(s) who perform any work under this contract shall fully comply with the provisions of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and any amendments thereto and regulations pursuant to the act. Any Contractor who fails to do so may be terminated for cause as set forth below.

  • COMPLIANCE WITH OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH By submission of a bid in response to this solicitation, the Bidder certifies that all material, equipment, etc., contained in their bid meets all OSHA requirements. Bidder further certifies that if they are the awarded Contractor, and the material, equipment, etc., delivered is subsequently found to be deficient in any OSHA requirements in effect on date of delivery, all costs necessary to bring the material, equipment, etc., into compliance with the aforementioned requirements shall be borne by the Contractor.

  • Safety and Health Committee The District's Safety and Health Committee shall include three (3) classified staff members appointed by ECCE who shall fully participate in the duties and functions of the Committee. The Safety and Health Committee shall normally meet on a monthly basis.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Act The Employer, the Union and the employees agree to be bound by the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, S.N.S. 1996, c.7.

Safety Shoes The Hospital will provide sixty dollars ($60.00) annually effective April and eighty dollars ($80.00) effective April to each employee who is required by the Hospital, as delineated below, to wear safety footwear during the of his duties. The Hospital will require employees the following functions to wear appropriate Engineering Services; Grounds; Transport; (only where frequently working in storage areas). (as determined by the Hospital) heavy carts on a regular basis, e.g., linen carts, food wagons. ARTICLE BULLETIN BOARDS The Employer shall provide bulletin that all employees will have access to them have the right to post notices of meetings and such other notices as may be of interest to the membership. The wage increase listed on a retroactive to contact,in writing (with a copy to the Union) at their last-known entitle who have left its employ, to advise them of their any retroactive wage adjustment. Any employees who have employees shall have notice from the Hospital in which to claim from the Hospital any adjustment to their remuneration entitlement. The retroactive payments shall be made by separate cheques to the employees so entitled within sixty (60) days from the date of ratification. All other adjustments shall be effective as set out specifically in this Collective Agreement.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union agree to cooperate in the promotion of safe working conditions, the prevention of accidents, the prevention of workplace injuries and the promotion of safe workplace practices.
