Rest Period Before or After Overtime. Wherever practicable, the Employer will arrange overtime so that employees will have at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between work on successive days. If an employee works so many overtime hours between work on successive days that he or she has not had 10 consecutive hours off duty, the Employer must do one of the following: (a) Release the employee until he or she has had 10 consecutive hours off duty, without loss of pay for the ordinary working time occurring during such absence; or (b) If on the instruction of the Employer an employee resumes or continues work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, pay at double rates until the employee is released from duty for such period and the employee will then be entitled to be absent until she or he has 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such absence. The provisions of this sub-clause shall apply in the case of employees engaged on shiftwork as if 8 hours were substituted for 10 hours when overtime is worked: (i) For the purpose of changing shift rosters; or (ii) Where an employee, being a shift worker, does not report for duty and a day worker or a shift worker is required to replace such employee; or (iii) Where a shift is worked by arrangement between the employees themselves.

Wherever practicable6.3.7.1 Subject to the next succeeding paragraph, the Employer will arrange when overtime work is necessary, it shall, wherever reasonably practical, be so arranged that employees will have at least 10 ten consecutive hours off duty between the work of successive days. 6.3.7.2 An employee (other than a casual employee) who works so much overtime between the termination of their ordinary work on successive days. If an employee works so many overtime hours between one day and the commencement of their ordinary work on successive days the next day, such that he or he/she has not had 10 at least ten consecutive hours off dutyduty between those times, the Employer must do one shall, subject to this clause, be released after completion of the following: (a) Release the employee such overtime until he or he/she has had 10 consecutive hours off duty, without loss of pay for the ordinary working time occurring during such absence; or (b) If on the instruction of the Employer an employee resumes or continues work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, pay at double rates until the employee is released from duty for such period and the employee will then be entitled to be absent until she or he has 10 ten consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such absence. The provisions of this sub-clause shall apply in the case of employees engaged on shiftwork as if 8 hours were substituted for 10 hours when overtime is worked:. (i) For the purpose of changing shift rosters; or (ii) Where 6.3.7.3 Should an employee’s ten hours rest period, being a shift workeras aforesaid, does end within three hours of their normal ceasing time, they shall not be required to report for work on that day. 6.3.7.4 If, on the instructions of the company, such employee resumes or continues work without having had such ten consecutive hours off duty, he/she shall be paid at double their ordinary time rate until he/she is released from duty for such period and a day worker or a shift worker he/she shall then be entitled to be absent until he/she has had ten consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such absence. 6.3.7.5 If excessive time is required involved in an employee travelling from their home during their rest period, special consideration as to replace such employee; or (iii) Where a shift is worked by arrangement between the employees themselveslength of the rest period will be give on an individual basis.
