Return to Bargaining Unit. A. Promotion to Sergeant/Detective Sergeant or a Non-Union Administrative Position: In the event that a bargaining unit member is promoted to Sergeant or Detective Sergeant or a Non-Union Administrative Position, and within twelve (12) months of the promotion, the employee requests to return to the Deputy classification, or is demoted by the Sheriff, the employee will be permitted to return to the bargaining unit and shall retain as classification seniority all time spent as a Deputy and as a Sergeant or Detective Sergeant, or in a Non-Union Administrative Position.
