Common use of Saturday and Sunday Work Clause in Contracts

Saturday and Sunday Work. An Employee, other than an Employee to whom paragraph 14.2(e) applies, required to work ordinary time on a Saturday or Sunday will be paid the ordinary time rate of pay plus a penalty of: (i) for ordinary hours worked on a Saturday, 50% of the ordinary time rate; and (ii) for ordinary hours worked on a Sunday, 100% of the ordinary time rate.

An Employee, Employee other than an a boarding supervision Employee to whom paragraph 14.2(e) applies, covered by Part 5 required to work ordinary time on a Saturday or Sunday will be paid the ordinary time rate of pay plus a penalty of: (ia) for ordinary hours worked on a Saturday, 50% of the ordinary time rate; and (iib) for ordinary hours worked on a Sunday, 100% of the ordinary time rate.

The penalty rates within this clause and in cl.56 - Overtime are not cumulative. Where an Employee is entitled to more than one penalty or overtime rate, the Employee will be entitled to the highest single penalty rate.
