Scientific Exploitation Sample Clauses

Scientific Exploitation. The results of the research will be published in the open scientific literature in both journals and specialist conferences. The research participants have a strong record in these areas, with a long history of active participation in the major relevant conferences and workshops. Furthermore, they have organized several recent conferences and workshops in the area including 1999 ESCA workshop on Accessing Information in Spoken Audio, the 2001 IEEE workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing and the 2002 IEEE Intl. Conf. on Multimedia and Expo (ICME). An important issue in research is its assessment. During the course of the project, the ability to have at our disposal a concrete platform will greatly help, if not facilitate, in the design and evaluation of robust methods. Allied to this, we plan to continue our (successful) participation in international technology eval- uations, for example within the framework of DUC, TREC or the Benchathlon. Project information will also be disseminated through regularly updated project web pages. Any com- munication and dissemination channels with related IST projects will also be pursued, for example the possibility of a joint workshop. An additional form of dissemination and knowledge transfer will be done in the form of PhD studies and as a contribution to advanced courses taught to people studying at the respective academic institutions participating to M4. A project such as M4 will contribute towards generating public awareness and interest towards research programs. The general public sometimes has doubts as to whether financing Universities or research pro- grams is worthwhile. Clearly M4 is a project with a significant potential for attracting interest from the public, through general media such as printed press, radio, television where all partners already have a number of contacts following past and ongoing projects. The full integration of the Czech Republic to the European Union (which may take place in the following years) will be assisted through the participation of Czech universities in IST RTD projects, such as M4. Such a European project together with educational programs (eg, Erasmus/Xxxxxxxx) will provide our staff, pre- and post-graduate students an opportunity to improve their skills, and become familiar with work and management standards of the EC. Finally, all scientific results and workshops will be open to all the partners of the National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) on “Interactive Mu...

Scientific Exploitation. While some of the PATHS products have reached maturity where they may be brought to market, others require further research or have spawned potential for new independent research projects. Such products are suitable for scientific exploitation. An obvious mode of scientific exploitation is to use PATHS research as the basis for future publications. The scientific partners of the PATHS consortiums, USFD and EHU assisted by MDR Partners have done extensive publishing and presentations of PATHS proceedings throughout the execution and at the time of completion, there are a number of publications in the pipeline. The PATHS project operates within a wide array of technologies and several of the areas of research have the potential to be, or have already been, brought forward into new applied research and implementation projects. Several of the PATHS consortium partners are working jointly on new projects and through these, PATHS products that are not yet mature for the consumer market may be further refined towards that end.

  • Research Support opioid abatement research that may include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Research Use The Requester agrees that if access is approved, (1) the PI named in the DAR and (2) those named in the “Senior/Key Person Profile” section of the DAR, including the Information Technology Director and any trainee, employee, or contractor1 working on the proposed research project under the direct oversight of these individuals, shall become Approved Users of the requested dataset(s). Research use will occur solely in connection with the approved research project described in the DAR, which includes a 1-2 paragraph description of the proposed research (i.e., a Research Use Statement). Investigators interested in using Cloud Computing for data storage and analysis must request permission to use Cloud Computing in the DAR and identify the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) or providers and/or Private Cloud System (PCS) that they propose to use. They must also submit a Cloud Computing Use Statement as part of the DAR that describes the type of service and how it will be used to carry out the proposed research as described in the Research Use Statement. If the Approved Users plan to collaborate with investigators outside the Requester, the investigators at each external site must submit an independent DAR using the same project title and Research Use Statement, and if using the cloud, Cloud Computing Use Statement. New uses of these data outside those described in the DAR will require submission of a new DAR; modifications to the research project will require submission of an amendment to this application (e.g., adding or deleting Requester Collaborators from the Requester, adding datasets to an approved project). Access to the requested dataset(s) is granted for a period of one (1) year, with the option to renew access or close-out a project at the end of that year. Submitting Investigator(s), or their collaborators, who provided the data or samples used to generate controlled-access datasets subject to the NIH GDS Policy and who have Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and who meet any other study specific terms of access, are exempt from the limitation on the scope of the research use as defined in the DAR.
