Section 9.4.1. 23 Upon recommendation of the immediate supervisor through administrative channels to the 24 Superintendent, and upon approval of the Board of Directors, an employee may be granted a leave 25 of absence for a period not to exceed one (1) year; provided, however, if such leave is granted due 26 to extended illness, one (1) additional year may be granted by action of the Board of Directors.
Section 9.4.1. An employee shall be granted up to three (3) days of leave with pay on the occasion of the birth 3 of his/her child. Up to three (3) days of leave with pay shall also be granted to an employee for 4 the adoption of his/her child.
Section 9.4.1. An employee who transferred to the District from another district in the State must notify the 26 District in writing within thirty (30) calendar days of hire that longevity credit is sought for 27 years of service in another district. The notification must provide verification from the other 28 district of:
Section 9.4.1. 40 The returning employee will not necessarily be assigned to the same position occupied before 41 the leave. 42
Section 9.4.1. 3 Seniority rights shall not accrue for the following reasons, without limitations:
5 A. Time on leave of absence granted for the purpose of serving in the Armed Forces of the
Section 9.4.1. 10 Two (2) or more unauthorized absences shall be a reason for the employee’s discharge.
Section 9.4.1. 37 The employee who is on a medical leave of absence for more than three (3) months shall 38 specify, in writing, the length of the anticipated leave. 39 40 Vacancies of three (3) months or more caused by leave of absence shall be posted and filled on 41 a temporary basis. The returning employee will be returned to the same position if it exists. 42 New employees hired to fill positions of employees on a leave of absence will be hired only for
Section 9.4.1. 16 Personal leave is cumulative to five (5) days.
Section 9.4.1. 34 Seniority rights of an employee shall be lost for the following reasons:
Section 9.4.1. 13 The District may identify up to five percent (5%) of the employees in the bargaining unit as 14 holding key positions and thereby exempt such employees from the provisions of the sections 15 of this Agreement pertaining to layoff. The District shall have the right to maintain such 16 employees without regard to seniority. With the exception of the employees above, the 17 employee with the least seniority in a general job classification shall be the first to be laid off, 18 unless the District determines that seniority should not prevail because a junior employee 19 possesses skill, ability and qualifications greater than a senior employee. 20
