Seniority Determination. In determining seniority for purposes of the agreement, seniority date shall be established for each employee as beginning with his/her most recent date of hiring with this school district. A teacher on unpaid leave of absence will not accrue seniority credit and such time, if any, shall not be counted toward tenure. Where there is a “tie” between two staff members (i.e. where the number of months of credited service in Bedford as of the most immediate past September 1 is equal) the following four criteria will be applied to “break” the tie in order as listed. The Association has agreed these are not arbitrary criteria.
