Temporary Military Service a. Requests for leave for military service should be submitted to the Office of Human Resources and will be approved in compliance with current federal law/regulation. Eligible employees will also receive up to fifteen (15) days of paid leave per year for military training.

Temporary Military Service. All employees who are members of the military or naval establishments of the United States or the State of Maryland shall be granted leave of absence on those days during which they are engaged in any military or naval duty to which they are ordered by proper authority. A copy of said order must be submitted to the immediate supervisor. This leave shall not exceed fifteen calendar days in any year. Employees shall not suffer loss of pay for the workdays included in such leave.
Temporary Military Service a. Leave with no loss of pay for a maximum of fifteen (15) working days in any calendar year may be granted to teachers called into emergency temporary active duty of any federal or state military unit, provided such obligation cannot be fulfilled on days when school is not in session.
Temporary Military Service. 1. Employees shall be paid all salary and other benefits for any and all periods of absence while engaged in the performance of ordered temporary military duty and while going to and returning from such duty, as required by New York State Military Law. If possible, notice will be given the Building Principal or Supervisor at least two (2) weeks in advance and shall be transmitted, at the same time, in writing, to the Superintendent. Every effort shall be made by such employee affected by this Paragraph to serve temporary active duty obligations during periods of time when school is not in session and at the request of the Superintendent or his/her designee, such employee shall be required to provide evidence of such effort in the form of a written request to the appropriate military authority to serve at a time when school is not in session. The Board agrees to intervene with higher military authorities in an effort to assist the employee who is attempting to comply with this stipulation. It is the intention of the parties that employees shall not serve temporary voluntary military duty during the periods that school is in session. 2. Military leave of absence for employees shall be granted pursuant to the New York State Military Law and any other state or federal statutes which may apply. Such military leave of absence shall be granted to any employee while engaged in the performance of ordered military duty, and while going to and returning from such duty, as provided by law, except the term “ordered” shall not include those instances where the leave is as a result of employee contrivance, whether by planned acquiescence or other means direct or indirect, to arrange for such duty to be taken at a time when it is not actually required by the military and/or inconvenient to the needs of the District. Absence of an employee, pursuant to this Paragraph during time of national emergency, shall not constitute an interruption of continuous employment. An employee returning from military leave of absence shall be entitled to the full military service credit then allowed for salary purposes to new applicants for positions in the District. All provisions of this sub-paragraph shall be amended in accordance with any changes in federal or state legislation which delimit any of the above provisions.

Temporary Military Service. All unit members who are members of the military or naval establishments of the United States or of the State of Maryland shall be granted leave on those days during which they shall be engaged in any military or naval duty to which they shall be ordered by proper authority, not to exceed fifteen (15) calendar days in any year without loss of pay for the working days included in such leave.
Temporary Military Service. A maximum of seventeen (17) days per school year for persons called into temporary active service of any military reserve or National Guard unit. Teachers will be paid the difference between their regular pay and pay which they receive from the State or Federal Government and will be required to notify the Superintendent of Schools as soon as possible prior to such a leave of the date of departure and the term of such service.

  • Temporary Military Leave An employee who is a member of the reserve corps of the Armed Forces of the United States or of the National Guard or of the Naval Militia shall be granted a Temporary Military Leave while engaged in military duty ordered for the purposes of military training, drills, encampment, naval cruises, special exercises or like activity as such member providing that the period of ordered duty does not exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days including time involved in going to and returning from such duty.

  • Temporary Disability Leave Upon application, and approval by the school employer, a temporary disability leave of absence shall be granted to teachers of this school corporation on the following basis:

  • TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE A. Members shall be entitled to the following temporary leaves of absence with full pay each school year. Such days of temporary leave must be taken as either one-half (1/2) or one (1) full working day. No personal leaves of absence shall be taken immediately prior to or immediately after holidays or vacations. Any exceptions must be requested in writing to the Superintendent or his designee and must have written approval. 1. Members are entitled to three (3) days personal leave annually subject to advance notice and approval secured from the Superintendent or designee. Personal leave means an activity that requires the member’s presence during the working day and is of such a nature that it cannot be attended to at a time when schools are not in session. Unused personal days shall be transferred to accumulated sick leave time on July 1st each year of this Agreement and all succeeding Agreements. 2. Up to five (5) working days at any one time shall be granted to members in the event of death of a member’s spouse, child, son-in- law, daughter-in-law, parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, or any person with whom the member has made his/her home, and any other member of the immediate household. 3. In the case of the death of a near relative, defined as first cousin, uncle, aunt, niece or nephew, there shall be no deduction from personal leave entitlement of up to three (3) days, subject to advance notice to and approval of the Superintendent. 4. A member shall also be granted a reasonable amount of bereavement time with full pay for the purpose of travel in cases where the funeral is out of state. Such time off is subject to the approval of the Assistant Superintendent to whom the member is reportable. 5. Any other leave of absence granted by the Board may be without pay. 6. No leave of absence with pay shall be granted due to the requirements of a second job. 7. Professional leave for such purposes as attending meetings, seminars and visiting other schools may be granted. 8. If a member is subpoenaed by a court of law to appear on behalf of the Board, such member shall do so without loss of pay.

  • Temporary Employee Employees may be hired for a specific term not to exceed six (6) months, to replace an employee who will be on approved leave of absence, absence due to WSIB disability, sick leave, long term disability or to perform a special non-recurring task. This term may be extended a further six (6) months on mutual agreement of the Union, employee and Hospital or by the Hospital on its own up to twelve (12) months where the leave of the person being replaced extends that far. The period of employment of such persons will not exceed the absentee's leave. The release or discharge of such persons shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration. This clause would not preclude such employees from using the job posting provision under the collective agreement and any successful applicant who has completed his probation period will be credited with the appropriate seniority. The Hospital will outline to employees selected to fill such temporary vacancies and the Union, the circumstances giving rise to the vacancy, and the special conditions relating to such employment.

  • Temporary Employment Temporary service in a position immediately preceding certification to that position, without interruption, shall count towards satisfaction of the probationary period. It will also count toward benefits eligibility (without retroactivity for benefits) and pay progression requirements, provided the duties of the temporary and permanent assignments are the same.
