Seniority for Breaking Ties. When it is necessary to determine the seniority ranking for two or more employees in the Maintenance Craft, the following shall be used to break any tie that might exist:

SENIORITY 1. Seniority shall be defined as the length of continuous employment by an employee of the Board as computed from his/her most recent date of hire. Work as a substitute employee prior to becoming a regular employee shall not be counted toward seniority.
Seniority Rights An employee who returns to employment at the time of or prior to the expiration of military leave shall be given such status in employment as would have been enjoyed if employment had been continuous from the time of entrance into the Armed Forces.
