Common use of Seniority Lost Clause in Contracts

Seniority Lost. Seniority will be lost by: (a) resignation; (b) discharge for just cause; (c) failure to return from an approved leave of absence as scheduled without previous notification to the employee's Department Head except for reasons beyond control of the employee.

Seniority Lost. Seniority will be lost by: (a) resignation; (b) discharge for just cause; (c) failure to return from an approved leave of absence as scheduled; (d) an unauthorized absence or failure to report for work as scheduled for five (5) consecutive days without previous notification to the employee's Department Head except for reasons beyond control of the employeeHead.
