Common use of SENIORITY - PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEES Clause in Contracts

SENIORITY - PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEES. (a) New employees hired in the unit shall be considered as probationary employees for the first forty-five (45) working days of their employment. Days on which a probationary employee is absent, will serve to extend the probationary period. When an employee satisfactorily finishes the probationary period, the employee shall be entered on the seniority list of the unit and shall rank for seniority from the employee’s date of hire. There shall be no seniority among probationary employees. Probationary employees will not receive any paid holidays, insurance, paid leave days or other benefits under the terms of this Agreement.
