Sick Leave and Annual Leave. Sick leave and annual leave shall continue to accumulate during the period of the leave of absence. Monthly sick leave reports must be submitted to the Human Resources Department. Annual leave which has accrued while on CUPE President leave must be taken prior to returning to employment with the Board. Annual leave which has accrued while on CUPE President leave and not taken prior to returning to employment with the Board must be reimbursed to the employee by the Union. For a period of two years, upon return to employment, the Board shall place the employee in the position held prior to the leave if the position still exists and shall credit the employee with any annual leave accrued to the commencement of the leave. If the position doesn’t exist, the employee shall be placed in a comparable position. Vacation leave will be adjusted in accordance with the employee’s length of service upon return to employment.
