Sick Leave Deductions for Regular Scheduled Shifts Greater. Than Eight (8) Hours Deductions for sick leave will be the equivalent to the hours of the employee’s regular scheduled shift and shall not exceed the equivalent sick leave entitlement, in hours, received by employees working an eight (8) hour shift, as contained in Clause 19.01 of the Collective Agreement. For greater clarity, eighty-five (85) working days is equivalent to six hundred and eighty (680) hours and shall not exceed seventeen (17) weeks. Payment of sick leave will be made as follows to all employees who have been with the Corporation for six (6) months (upon completion of their probationary period) to four (4) years: • first 80 hours, which is the equivalent of ten (10) working days, in hours, received by employees working an eight (8) hour shift, at one hundred (100%) pay; • next 600 hours, which is the equivalent of seventy-five (75) working days, in hours, received by employees working an eight (8) hour shift, at seventy-five percent (75%) pay; • upon completion of four (4) years of service, sick leave for all six hundred and eighty (680) hours will be paid at one hundred percent (100%). For greater clarity, eighty-five (85) working days is equivalent to six hundred and eighty (680) hours. In order for deductions from sick leave to be equivalent to that received by employees working an eight (8) hour shift, as contained in Clause 19.03 of the Collective Agreement, the sick leave credits of an employee working regular scheduled shifts greater than eight (8) hour shift shall be deducted based on the following: Portion of Day Absent Due to Sickness Sick Leave Credit Deduction Up to one half (1/2) of the hours of their shift ½ of the hours in their scheduled shift One half (1/2) of the hours of their shift or more The full number of hours in their scheduled shift (2016)
