Sick Leave is defined as the necessary absence from duty of a unit member, because of personal illness or injury of a unit member or unit member’s immediate family, exposure to contagious disease of a unit member or unit member’s immediate family, or dental, eye and other physical or medical examinations or treatment by a licensed practitioner of a unit member or unit member’s immediate family. For purposes of use of sick leave in this section, immediate family shall be limited to spouse, child, step child, xxxxxx child, parent or registered domestic partner.
