Sick Leave Defined Clause Samples

The "Sick Leave Defined" clause establishes what constitutes sick leave within the context of an employment agreement or workplace policy. It typically outlines the conditions under which an employee may be absent from work due to illness, injury, or medical appointments, and may specify the types of documentation required, such as a doctor's note, to validate the absence. By clearly defining sick leave, this clause ensures both employees and employers understand when and how sick leave can be used, reducing ambiguity and helping to prevent disputes over attendance and leave entitlements.
Sick Leave Defined. Sick Leave means the period of time an employee is permitted to be absent from work with full pay by virtue of being sick or disabled, exposed to contagious disease, or because of an accident for which compensation is not payable under the Workers' Compensation Act.
