Sick Leave Defined. Sick Leave means the period of time an employee is permitted to be absent from work with full pay by virtue of being sick or disabled, exposed to contagious disease, or because of an accident for which compensation is not payable under the Workers' Compensation Act.
Sick Leave Defined. As used in this Section, "sick leave" means leave of absence of an employee for illness or injury which renders the employee incapable of performing assigned work or duties for the County, and routine medical or dental appointments of the employee or exposure to contagious disease.
Sick Leave Defined. Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. An employee who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave, shall be granted sick leave pay when unable to perform the duties of her position because of illness or injury, provided that the employee is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, provided that the employee satisfies the Employer of her condition, and provided that the employee has sufficient sick leave credits.

Xxxx leave shall not be considered as a right that an employee may use at his/her discretion, but shall be allowed in case of necessity and actual personal or immediate family illness.

(a) Sick Leave shall be considered to mean the period of time an Employee is absent from work at full pay because of sickness or disability or because of an accident for which compensation is not being paid under the W.S.I.B. (P/T)
(b) The normal provisions of sick leave compensation as applicable to full-time Employees are compensated for in wage rates of part-time Employees.
Sick Leave Defined. (a) Sick leave means the period of time an employee is absent from work without loss of pay by virtue of being sick or disabled, or under examination or treatment of a physician, chiropractor, or dentist, or because of an accident for which compensation is not payable under the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act.
(b) Employees who are in receipt of Long Term Disability benefits, or who are laid off, or on authorized sick leave or authorized leave of absence for a period of greater than thirty (30) consecutive days will not be eligible for the Sick Leave Allowance entitlement for the period they are on such leave, layoff or benefit. The above does not apply to Workplace Safety & Insurance Board benefits for the first twelve (12) months of absence.
Sick Leave Defined. An employee shall be entitled to and shall receive sick leave without loss of pay only where the employee is unable to be at work and perform his regular duties as a result of personal illness or injury. A working day is defined as the number of hours an employee works on a regular work day.
Sick Leave Defined. A period of time an employee is absent from work by virtue of being verified sick or disabled by means of a doctor’s certificate, which shall be provided in accordance with Article 14.04(B) and 14.04(C).
Sick Leave Defined. Sick leave shall be interpreted to mean personal illness, quarantine at home, or serious illness or death in the immediate family or household. For purposes of this section, "immediate family" shall include parents, spouse, brothers, sisters, children, grandparents, grandchildren, parents-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, step-children, nieces, nephews, significant other and legal guardians. Sick leave may be used as bereavement days.
