Sick/Personal Days. Employees shall be entitled to six (6) days per Contract Year of fully paid sick/personal days in accordance with current Company policy during the term of this Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, such sick/personal day rights shall not vest until Employee has worked for Company for at least three (3) months. Sick/Personal Day rights shall not be cumulative from Contract Year to Contract Year, nor shall Employee be paid for more than fifty-two (52) weeks of employment in each Contract Year irrespective of whether or not sick/personal days are exercised.
Sick/Personal Days. Employees shall receive sick days/personal days according to the following schedule: Twelve Month Employees: 15 sick days per year, of these 15 days, 3 may be used as personal days. School Year Employee 12 sick days per year, of these 12 days, 3 may be used as (Full Time): personal days. An employee with eight (8) or more years of service will receive fifteen (15) sick leave days per year. Of these 15 days, 4 may be used as personal days. Hourly Employees: 10 sick days per year. Of these 10 days, 2 may be used as personal days. These days are pro-rated according to the number of hours worked per year. Sick and Personal Days may only be taken in one-half day increments with the exception of bus drivers who have a mid-day route which may take time off in thirds. Employer reserves the right to request a doctor’s note for pre-planned absences and a doctor’s note to return to work when absent for three (3) consecutive days or on the day before or day after a long weekend, Christmas Break or Spring Break. Employees that are not receiving a 6% retirement increase are eligible for a $100 bonus (first half of school year—last day before Christmas Break—second half of school year—day of return from Christmas Break to last day of school) if no personal, sick, or dock days have been taken. Bonus payments will be paid on January 26 and June 26 payrolls.
Sick/Personal Days. 1. Except as provided below, the Employer agrees that all full-time employees shall be allowed ten (10) sick/personal days with pay each calendar year. New employees hired after the effective date of this Agreement shall accrue sick/personal days at a rate of one (1) day per two (2) months worked up to a maximum of six (6) sick/personal days during their first year of employment. Employees shall not be entitled to take sick/personal days during their trial period but shall be credited with the applicable number of days upon completion of the trial period. Employees shall not receive compensation for unused sick/personal days, and sick/personal days may not be banked. Employee requests for sick/personal days shall be made to the Employer in writing, at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance, where practicable. Where an employee requests five (5) or more consecutive sick/personal days off, he shall give at least thirty (30) days’ notice, where practicable. The approval of sick/personal days shall not be unreasonably withheld.
2. An Employer shall have the option of compensating employees for unused sick/personal days. If the Employer chooses to compensate an employee for unused sick/personal days it shall notify and receive approval from the Union and said approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
3. In the event an employee notifies the employer that he/she is unable to report for work on a scheduled work day immediately before or immediately after a scheduled vacation day or contractual holiday (a holiday for which the employee was not scheduled to work), in the absence of a documented medical need for such absence or prior consent of the employer, the employee shall not receive pay for such vacation day or holiday.
4. The parties agree that on an annual basis the paid leave benefits provided regular employees under this Agreement are comparable to or better than those provided under the New York City Earned Sick Time Act, N.Y.C. Admin. Code § 20- 911 et seq. Therefore, the provisions of that Act are hereby waived.

Sick/Personal Days. Employees who have completed one year of service will be entitled to a sick leave benefit of twenty-four (24) hours per year. Sick / Personal days can be used for an employee’s own mental or physical health or to tend to the care of a family member or loved one. Sick / Personal days will be paid out at the request of the employee in increments no less than four
Sick/Personal Days. A. Combined sick/personal days, which shall be used for personal illness, emergencies, or for legitimate business, professional, and family obligations an employee regularly encounters which cannot be met outside the regular work day, will be granted to employees as follows:
1. An employee will earn one paid sick/personal day for each calendar quarter in which he/she works. Up to four (4) sick/personal days per year are earned if an employee works twelve months; three (3) sick/personal days per year are earned if an employee works nine months. Employees working less than an average of 20 hours per week do not earn sick/personal days.
2. The number of hours earned for a sick/personal day is based on the average number of hours per day an employee usually works.
3. Sick/personal days are credited at the end of the calendar quarter in which they are earned.
4. At the end of a year (June 30), an employee may carry over to the following year the number of sick/personal days earned in the previous twelve-month period. Employees may be paid for up to two earned days at the end of their work year. Employees must request such payments on or before their last scheduled day of work for that year.
5. Earned sick/personal days will be used before unpaid leave may be taken.
6. Sick/personal days can not be used if a site is closed for an in-service day, or if staff is not scheduled due to low enrollment. Immediate family member shall mean: husband, wife, father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, uncle, aunt, nephew and niece.

Sick/Personal Days. All employees are eligible for paid sick/personal days, the equivalent of one (1) standard workweek, depending on the shift worked to a maximum of forty (40) hours per calendar year upon completion of their probationary period. In the first year of employment, the number of sick days will be pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Sick/Personal days are provided for illness of the employee or a close family member or for other personal family related reasons for which the employee requires the time off. Unused sick/personal days at December 31 of each calendar year shall be paid out in the first pay period of January of the following year.
