Sickness During Vacation. Where an employee commences annual vacation and becomes incapacitated either through illness or injury, the period of incapacity, provided that it extends for three (3) consecutive days or more, will be deemed to be sick leave rather than vacation, always provided that a medical certificate is produced certifying that the employee was, in fact, incapacitated for the period claimed. The vacation period during which the employee was incapacitated shall be taken later, on dates to be mutually agreed upon by the employee and the Department Head.
