Common use of Sickness During Vacation Clause in Contracts

Sickness During Vacation. Where an employee qualifies for sick leave during the period of vacation, the period of vacation so displaced (in excess of four (4) working days) shall either be added to the vacation period or reinstated for use at a later date, by mutual agreement. Employees will be expected to provide proof of illness during vacations by way of a letter from a doctor. For the purpose of this clause, sick leave replacement shall only be for a serious disabling accident or serious illness in excess of four (4) working days and requiring medical intervention; or resulting in admission to a hospital.
