Signing and Pavement Marking Plans. The Consultant shall prepare plan sheets at a scale of 1”= ’ for the entire length of the project, including side streets, showing pavement markings and signage to be installed on the project. Pavement markings and signs shall conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Signing and Marking Plans shall include, but not be limited to, the following: General Note sheet(s), summary of Pay Items sheets, Plan sheet(s), and Special Marking Detail sheet(s), as needed.

Signing and Pavement Marking Plans. The Design-Build Firm shall prepare signing and pavement marking plans in accordance with County criteria. • The Design-Build Firm shall provide signing and pavement markings for any mid-block trail crossing. The design shall include a pedestrian activated Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB’s) installed at the crosswalk (dual indicated both directions) along with appropriate warning signs (W11-15 and W16-7P). RRFB’s shall also be installed in advance of the crosswalk along with warning signs (W11-15 and W16-7P). The RRFB’s shall be solar powered. The RRFB’s shall be pushbutton activated and all RRFB’s shall be actuated with the pushbuttons. • The Design Build Firm shall provide signing and pavement markings on the shared use path and at all side street crossings.
Signing and Pavement Marking Plans. The original scope anticipated minimal signing work on this project – mainly east of the RR tracks in the reconstruction section, and at the curb ramp corners. However, at the City’s direction the signing effort now included removal and replacement of all signs within the project corridor, with the exception of a few signs including MATBUS signs, Concordia signs, and church signs which will be reset. Apex completed a field sign inventory and identified a total of 482 existing signs along or adjacent to the corridor. This is a large number of signs, requiring a substantial effort in design and plan preparation.
