Common use of SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE Clause in Contracts

SPECIAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE. 25.1 Leave-of-absence with pay may be granted for special or compassionate purposes to an employee for a period of, a) not more than six (6) months with the approval of his / her Deputy Minister; b) over six (6) months upon the certificate of the Public Service Commission. 25.2 No employee shall absent himself / herself from duty on a leave of absence provided for in this section unless he / she has previously obtained the authorization required by this Article. 25.3 An application for leave-of-absence under this Article shall be in writing and shall set out the reasons for the leave-of-absence.
