USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. Accumulated credits includes vacation credits, compensation option credits, compensating time off and attendance credits.
USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. An employee who is on leave-of-absence with pay under Section 7.01(ii) of this Article may, at the employee's option, have one quarter (1/4) of a day deducted from the accumulated credits (attendance, vacation, statutory holiday bank or overtime credits) for each day of leave to which Section 7.01(ii) applies and receive regular salary for each such day.
USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. An employee on under sub-section of this Article may, at his option, have of a day deducted from his accumulated credits (attendance, vacation or overtime credits) for each such day of absence and receive regular pay. An employee who is absent from his duties due to sickness or injury beyond the total number of days provided for in section of this Article s h a l l have his accumulated attendance credits reduced by a number of days equal to such absence and he shall receive regular pay for that period. Section does not apply to an employee when he qualifies for and elects to receive benefits under the Long Term Income Protection Plan. Where, for reasons of health, an employee is frequently absent or unable to perform his duties, the Employer may require him to submit to a medical examination at the expense of the Employer. After five (5) days' absence caused by sickness, no leave with pay shall be allowed unless a certificate of a legally qualified medical practitioner is forwarded to the employee's immediate supervisor certifying that the employee is unable to attend to his official duties. Notwithstanding this provision, where it is suspected that there may be an abuse of sick leave, the Employer may require an employee to submit a medical certificate for a period of absence of less than five (5) days. For the purposes of this Article twenty (20) working days of employment shall not include vacation or any leaves without pay, but days worked before and after such leave shall be considered consecutive. Not- withstanding the above, where an employee is unable to attend to his duties due to sickness or injury, the days worked before and after such absence shall not be considered consecutive.
USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. An employee who is on leave of absence and receiving pay under Section 42.1b) or 42.2b) is entitled, at the employee’s option, to have sufficient credits deducted from the employee’s accumulated credits for each day to which Section 42.1b) or 42.2b) applies and to receive regular salary for each such day.
USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. An employee who is on leave-of absence with pay under Article RPT13.1.1(b) may, at the employee’s option, have one quarter (1/4) of a day deducted from accumulated credits (attendance, vacation, or CTB) for each day of leave to which Article RPT13.1.1(b) applies and receive regular salary for each such day.
USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. 23.02.01 An employee may discharge existing credits for lieu time, overtime, vacation and banked sick leave credits to "top up" the Short Term Income Protection Plan.
23.02.02 After five (5) consecutive days of absence due to illness, no leave with pay shall be allowed unless a certificate from a legally qualified medical practitioner is forwarded to the Employer certifying that the employee is unable to attend to their official duties. After frequent absences due to sickness, the Employer may request a medical note or require the employee to submit to a medical examination, at the expense of the Employer.
23.02.03 Holidays falling during periods of sickness shall not be charged against the employee's sick leave credits.
23.02.04 When an employee has worked five (5) hours and has a medical or dental appointment on that day for themselves or a dependant child, there shall be no deduction from that employee's credits upon verification. Other arrangements for time during the day to attend an appointment as described above may be made with the employee’s supervisor.
USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. 38.1 An employee who is absent from her duties due to sickness or injury may, her option, supplement their STSP benefits with the use of her accumulated credits (vacation, lieu time) up to an amount equal to her regular pay.
USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. A nurse who is absent from her/his duties due to sickness or injury may at her/his option, supplement their short term sick leave benefits with the use of her/his accumulated credits (vacation, lieu time) up to an amount equal to her/his regular pay.
USE OF ACCUMULATED CREDITS. An employee on leave-of-absence under (b) above may, at their option, have one-quarter (1/4) of a day deducted from their accumulated credits (vacation or lieu time credits) for each such day of absence and receive regular pay. An employee who is absent from their duties due to sickness or injury beyond the total number of days provided for in (a) and (b) above shall have their accumulated credits (vacation or lieu time credits) reduced by a number of days equal to such absence and shall receive regular pay for that period. This does not apply to an employee when they qualify for and elects to receive benefits under Long Term Disability (Article 12.06). Where, for reasons of health, an employee is frequently absent or unable to perform their duties, the Employer may require him/her to submit to a medical examination at the expense of the Employer. Employees returning from LTIP/LTD to resume employment must complete twenty (20) consecutive working days of employment to qualify for benefits under the Short Term Disability Plan. For the purposes of this Plan twenty (20) consecutive working days of employment shall not include vacation leave-of-absence or any leaves without pay, but days worked before and after such leave shall be considered consecutive. Notwithstanding the above, where an employee is unable to attend to their duties due to sickness or injury, the days worked before and after such absence shall not be considered consecutive.

On separation from the Employer, the employee shall be entitled to one hundred percent (100%) of the value of unused accumulated sick leave credits, computed at the regular rate of pay of the employee at time of separation. Credits are to be recorded and maintained in the of the Employer. On an optional basis, once every calendar year, employees may cash in up to ten (10) days of their unused accumulated sick leave credits as recorded to December The Parties agree that an employee may, by indicating in writing, have sick days accumulated in name, transferred to the credit of any other employee. Such transfers of sick days will be made by determining the prorated daily rate of the transferring employee, and dividing that value by the prorated daily rate of the benefiting employee. This dividend shall then be rounded to the nearest decimal five and this shall be the number of sick days added to the benefiting employee's credit.
