SPECIAL CLERKS. All employees, except First Meat Men, Journeymen and Apprentices in the Meat Department. All employees covered by this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, become members of the Union on the thirtieth day following the beginning of such employment or the execution date of this Agreement, whichever is the later, and shall thereafter maintain their membership in the Union in good standing. Any employee because of non-payment of initiation fees and dues (including such other obligations to the Union, failure to pay which would make an employee subject to discharge under the Labor-Management Relations Act, 1947) shall be subject to dismissal after noti­ fication in writing to the Employer by the Union, provided, however, that the employee may have a reasonable time within which to make such payments of initiation fees or dues, the failure of payment of which has caused the expulsion or suspension.

A r t ic l e IV -r Ar t ic l e V MANAGEMENT CLAUSE (a) The Employer reserves the right to the operation of its business and the di­ rection of its working forces,/including v but not limited to, the establishment of the opening and closing time of stores, the assignment of employees starting and stopping hours, the right to interchange employees starting and stopping hours, the right to interchange employees except to journeyman butchers jobs between any store departments, the right to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, demote, discharge for just cause, or as­ sign employees to relieve employees from I duty because of lack of work and to trans- 1 fer employees from one store location to | another, subject however, to the pro­ visions of this Agreement. (b) The Employer reserves the right t designate which stores shall have Depart- | ment Heads.   • DIPLOMATIC AGENTS AND CONSULAR OFFICERS Nothing in this Agreement shall affect the fiscal privileges of diplomatic agents or consular officers under the general rules of international law or under the provisions of special agreements.
