Specialist Nurse. Indication Methotrexate is used in the treatment of adults with severe, active, classical or definite rheumatoid arthritis who are unresponsive or intolerant to conventional therapy and psoriatic arthritis (unlicensed) Dosage and Administration Supply only 2.5 mg strength tablets, as it reduces the risk of accidental overdose (see National Patient Safety Agency Web site ).
