Common use of Specialty Unit Training Clause in Contracts

Specialty Unit Training. If a temporary position is created for the 24 purpose of training in a specialty area, the position will be posted in the same manner 25 and duration as other position postings under this Agreement. An interview committee 26 will be named, which will include an Association representative from the specialty unit, 27 unit leadership, and bargaining unit nurse(s) from the specialty unit selected 28 collaboratively by the Association representative and the supervisor/manager/director. 29 The committee will make a selection recommendation by consensus to the supervisor/ 30 manager/director, based on the committee's assessment of the applicants' seniority, 31 position status (full-time, part-time, relief, or temporary), past performance history and 32 potential for success in the training program and in the specialty unit. The committee's 33 recommendation will be given serious consideration by the Supervisor/Manager. If the 1 Supervisor/Manager does not intend to implement the committee recommendation, the 2 Supervisor/Manager will meet with the committee to discuss the selection. The 3 committee meeting is paid time. 5 If a voluntary training program offered by the Hospital is anticipated to be a requirement 6 or preference for a future position in the specialty unit, that information will be included 7 on material made available to the nurses about the training program prior to enrollment.
