Student Office Hours. 10.6.1.1 Faculty members shall devote five (5) student office hours per week for a total of 160 (one hundred sixty) student office hours per academic year for a contract teaching load of thirty (30) teaching units. The number of student office hours shall be reduced proportionately if the number of TUs devoted to classroom instruction is reduced. 10.6.1.2 Student office hours are to be scheduled to meet the needs of students and the needs of the educational program of the District. Each scheduled period of office time shall be no less than one-half (1/2) hour in duration and must be scheduled between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. The faculty member shall prepare and submit a proposed schedule of student office hours to the appropriate xxxx by putting the student office hours on the faculty member’s service load agreement. Each faculty member shall post student office hours on the faculty member’s office door and/or learning management system.
Student Office Hours. During semesters in which a Faculty member is scheduled to teach, each Faculty member shall maintain a total of at least five (5) posted open Student Office Hours per week to be available to students. Faculty members shall hold these Student Office Hours in-person on campus or may hold them virtually online, if in proportion to the ratio of online to in-person teaching. These hours shall be spread between at least two (2) different work days each week. It is understood that such scheduling will not include open lab assignments or committee assignments. The office hours shall be scheduled in accordance with the following procedure: A. Each Faculty member shall submit a Student Office Hours schedule, identifying the times and days of the week that Faculty member will be available to meet with students, to the Division Associate Xxxx prior to the first week of each academic semester. In the event the Associate Xxxx disapproves the schedule, the Faculty member shall be given an opportunity to review and discuss their respective positions. B. By the end of the second (2nd) week of classes, each Faculty member shall (1) post that Faculty member’s Student Office Hours in a College-approved location; (2) amend as necessary syllabi for each class taught by that Faculty member, include the Faculty member’s Student Office Hours in that syllabus, and distribute the syllabus to students in that class; and (3) enter Student Office Hours and class schedule into a College-approved electronic calendar. Each Faculty member whose Student Office Hours have been changed shall update the posting and syllabus required by this subsection within one (1) week of the Student Office Hour change. C. During any semester in which a Faculty member is scheduled to teach, the Faculty member shall be available to meet with students. If a Faculty member is teaching less than a full base load, a reduced amount of Student Office Hours may be approved by the Associate Xxxx or designee.

Related to Student Office Hours

  • Office Hours (1) Full-time instructional academic employees shall maintain a posted five (5)-hour minimum office schedule each week. The specific office hours and office hours location shall be determined by the academic employee’s teaching schedule and shall receive the concurrence of the appropriate unit administrator. (2) Full-time academic employees whose teaching load is twenty (20) or more contact hours per week may, with the approval of the unit administrator, arrange an alternate schedule of office hours.

  • Educational Assistance Section 1. Tuition reimbursement shall be provided to employees covered by this collective bargaining AGREEMENT under the same terms and conditions, policies and procedures as the rest of Hennepin County and reflecting a county–wide pool for funding.   • Technical Assistance DFPS may provide informal support, guidance, clarification, and other forms of technical assistance via phone, email, and virtual meeting to resolve Grant or performance compliance issues. Grantee will document all such instances of technical assistance by DFPS in writing, including any implementation work.

  • Other Than Normal Working Hours Non-prevailing Wage Rate Projects: Work performed from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday to Friday, and any time Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays.
