TEACHING LOAD AND ASSIGNMENT. A. The normal, daily, teaching load in Grades 6-12 will be six (6) assigned periods and one (1) unas- signed, duty-free, preparation period of duration equal to the assigned periods. The Committee and the Association recognize and agree that a teacher’s responsibility to his/her students and his/her profession generally entails the performance of duties and the expenditure of time beyond the regular work day, but that time and work schedules can and should be established applicable to teachers in the normal course of their employment.

As of 2008-2009, the normal, daily, teaching load in Grades 7-12 will be six (6) assigned periods and one (1) unassigned, duty free, preparation period of duration equal to the assigned periods. There shall be a minimum of two-hundred sixty (260) minutes per week of non-teaching prep time. There shall be a maximum of four (4) preparations per teacher assignment. The normal, daily, teaching load at the elementary school will be three hundred fifty (350) minutes of assigned time and no less than seventy-five (75) minutes of unassigned, duty-free, preparation time, including lunch.
TEACHING LOAD AND ASSIGNMENT. A. The Board agrees that the academic class size for Kindergarten through Grade 6 shall not exceed the maximum of twenty-five (25) students per class. If class size exceeds twenty-five (25), the affected teacher(s), the WTA President, Elementary Principal, and Superintendent must confer to remedy the situation.
