Common use of Temporary Rates Clause in Contracts

Temporary Rates. Employees required to work and substantially perform the job duties in a higher classification on a temporary basis will be paid at the appropriate step in the higher pay range which represents at least a 4% increase over the employee’s present wages. Temporary rates shall apply to any member at any time he/she is required to work and substantially perform the job duties of a higher classification for two (2) hours or more in a work day, except those duties which are incidental to the duties set forth in the description of duties of his/her regular classification assignment. This section shall not apply to training programs.
