Theses. From the time when a graduate thesis proposal has been finally approved by the Graduate Studies Committee, it shall be retained by the Graduate Studies Office for twelve (12) months unless, by mutual agreement between the supervisor of the thesis and the supervisee, it is decided that it may then be released and deposited in the Library. Otherwise, at the end of the twelve (12) months the completed thesis will be deposited in the Library.
Theses. 7.1 One copy of any Ph.D. thesis or similar academic document relating to the Experiment must be sent by the Collaborating Institution(s) concerned to the CERN Library for inclusion in its collection.
Theses. The University recognizes that copyright for theses remains with the student. The original records (including software) of an investigation for a graduate thesis or dissertation are the property of the University but may be retained by the student at the discretion of the student’s major department and faculty mentor. The University shall have, as a condition of degree award, the royalty-free right to retain, use and distribute a limited number of copies of the thesis, together with the right to require its publication for archival use.
Theses. Nothing in this Agreement shall impose restrictions on the content or handling, for academic purposes, of theses of the Participant in a University Project. Nonetheless, the Centre may request, in writing, that the Participant delay publication or disclosure of a thesis for a period not to exceed one (1) year from the date of intended publication or disclosure, only if such publication or disclosure would prevent protection or commercialization of any Centre Intellectual Property or research results arising from performance of a University Project. The Centre may also request that a thesis defence be held in camera and that the members of the thesis examination board, including the external examiner(s), be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. The Centre acknowledges that this Agreement does not obligate the Participant to delay publication or disclosure of a thesis.

The students nominated for the DD program will complete their master thesis in either the home or the host institution. To this purpose, each student nominated for the DD program will choose one main supervisor from the institution where the thesis work is carried out. A second supervisor shall be allocated from the other institution. B oth supervisors should be members of the examination board for the master exam The master final exam will include an oral defence of the thesis work and will be given either in the home or in the host institution. For this exam, a joint board will be nominated, which includes both KLU and UNIUD members. This board will be made of at least five members. Variations of the exam procedure and board composition may be adopted according to changes of the corresponding procedures of either institution. The exam final grade will be given on the basis of the student's career and of the thesis defence. Independent grades will be assigned according to the criteria of both institutions. After the final exam, an official document will be filled and signed by the examination board in agreement with the administrative rules of both institutions. This document will trigger the final degree release by both institutions. Thereafter, the student shall be awarded the degree "Diplom-lngenieurin"/"Diplom lngenieur" by the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt and the degree "Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxxxx" (Electronic Engineering) by the University of Udine, with all the legal effects in both countries.
Theses. Where students are involved in the Project, the Company and the University may agree to add a clause allowing for the submission of a thesis and its deposit in the University’s library. An example of that sort of clause is given below. The University will need to have a process in place for examining theses confidentially and restricting access to them in the library.
