Common use of TOOLS (Employers) Clause in Contracts

TOOLS (Employers). a. The Employer shall, at the start of a job, furnish suitable place for keeping employees' tool kits and same to be provided with suitable lock for protection during non-working hours. The Employer will maintain insurance to protect employees against loss of tools by fire, flood, robbery from forced entry, or by damage from any Employer equipment and work clothing lost by fire, flood and forced entry. Employers will require a list of tools and work clothing so stored. Employees will fill out a tool list and will inform the Employer of additional tools as they are added or subtracted from the list, or the Employer will not be obligated to replace them should a loss occur. Replacement for clothing will be understood to mean work clothing and rain gear only. Tools and clothing outlined will be replaced with comparable tools and clothing only.
