Transportation Employees. [a] Bus Drivers Bus drivers shall be paid their regular rate of pay for all runs except field and activity trips for which they shall be paid on Table 9, Grade 11, Step 4. Drivers are required to take any requested in-district extra trip during the time frame of their established route and shall be paid a minimum of one hour call-out at regular pay if run extends beyond allotted time. (i) Summer runs and year-round bus runs driven on a regular basis shall be paid a minimum two (2) hour call out time in the a.m. and p.m. (ii) Bus drivers hired on regular contract, if coming from the substitute list, shall move to Step 2 on the appropriate bus driver lane. [b] Bus Assistants Bus assistants shall be paid a minimum two (2) hour call out time for a.m. and p.m. runs and a minimum one (1) hour call out time for kindergarten or midday runs. [c] Mechanics Transportation Department Mechanics required to work on District recognized holidays and/or for emergency call out such as stranded buses or similar unplanned emergencies shall be compensated for a two (2) hour minimum. Time worked under this provision shall be compensated at time and a half at the employee’s option of compensatory time or wages. [d] Daily authorized hours for bus drivers and bus assistants at the end of a school year will remain unchanged until November 1st of the following school year. On November 1st, the daily authorized hours will be changed to reflect the routes that have been assigned as of that date. From the beginning of the school year through November 1st, the Transportation Department will attempt to give additional work assignments to bus drivers and bus assistants if their authorized hours are greater than their actual assigned route hours. For any hours not made up by November 1st, bus drivers and bus assistants will continue to have the opportunity to make up those hours until May 15th. When assigning any extra duty work, priority will be given to those needing to make up time. Bus drivers’ and bus assistants’ paychecks may be adjusted for any hours not made up by May 15th. The Transportation Department will make every effort to make as many routes as possible available for selection by drivers and assistants prior to November 1st.

Transportation Employees. [a] A. The current rates of pay will continue with full force and effect for 2017-2018. Effective July 1, 2018 Transportation Bargaining Unit Employees will receive an increase in compensation that will produce a 3.0% increase. Example: step 5 will be increase by 3% and will become the new step 6. B. Regular To and From Bus Drivers Bus drivers shall will be paid at their regular rate of pay for all runs except field assigned regular routes and activity trips for which they shall substitute bus driving routes. C. Clerical Staff and Service Technicians who drive on regular bus routes will be paid on Table 9driver wages for that time. When a district employee classified as a regular activity bus driver drives a to-and–from route, Grade 11, Step 4she/he will be paid the regular to-and-from rate (this does not apply to substitute bus drivers). D. Field Work and Activity Trips 1. Drivers Field Work and Activity Trips are required trips requiring the use of CCSD vehicles to take any requested intransport students to off-district extra trip during campus activities or athletic events. All Field Work and Activity Trips will be posted in each Bus Barn. 2. The purpose of this procedure is to allow regular drivers the time frame opportunity to receive additional hours of employment. a. All employees desiring to have their names placed upon the Rotation List must notify their supervisor in writing of their established route and shall intention to be paid a minimum of one hour call-out at regular pay if run extends beyond allotted timeplaced on the List. (i) Summer runs and year-round bus runs driven on a regular basis shall b. Employees requesting to drive for field work and/or to be paid a minimum two (2) hour call out time in the a.m. and p.m. (ii) Bus drivers hired on regular contract, if coming from the substitute list, shall move to Step 2 placed on the appropriate bus driver laneActivity Rotation List will be placed initially based upon their seniority; and then by the number of hours charged, whether accepted or rejected, for equity in hours worked. c. A CCEA representative employee in each school year through November 1stbus barn area will meet when requested with the area scheduler to ensure the procedure is being followed according to the terms of this Agreement. g. A school principal may request a particular driver for their Activity Trips or Field Work from the list of drivers serving that particular school, but hours worked must be equitable. All requests will be submitted in writing to the Transportation Department will attempt to give additional work assignments to bus drivers and bus assistants if their authorized hours are greater than their actual assigned route hours. For any hours not made up by November 1st, bus drivers and bus assistants will continue to have the opportunity to make up those hours until May 15th.
