Travel Insurance and Assistance. The insured person pays the supplier for the total cost of services, care, treatment or supplies. The travel assistance firm reimburses eligible expenses upon receipt of the required official and supporting documents. In some cases, and subject to the travel assistance firm’s prior authorization, the travel assistance firm may reimburse incurred expenses directly to the supplier.

Travel Insurance and Assistance. ‌ The reasonable and customary expenses and services described below are eligible for reimbursement if an insured person, covered under public health and hospital insurance plans for her province of residence, incurs emergency expenses as a result of an accident or illness that occurs during a stay outside her province of residence. These benefits are awarded in addition to, not in lieu of the benefits offered by government programs. The lifetime maximum reimbursement is $5,000,000 per insured person. All benefit amounts are indicated in Canadian dollars.
