Types of Leaves of Absence. There are four (4) types of leaves of absences. All requests must be in writing and require the approval of the appointing authority or designee and the Director of Human Resources or designee. Upon request, the appointing authority or designee and the Director of Human Resources or designee may grant successive leaves of absence. An employee who separates after a leave of absence shall be cashed out at the rate of pay in effect at the time the employee last received pay (i.e., actually worked or received paid leave). All benefits shall be administered in accordance with the appropriate Article of this Agreement.
