UNCOVERING OF WORK. 13.1.1 If any portion of the Work should be covered contrary to the request of the Architect or to requirements specifically expressed in the Contract Documents, it must, if required in writing by the Architect, be uncovered for his or her observation and shall be replaced at the Contractor's expense. 13.1.2 If any other portion of the Work has been covered which the Architect has not specifically requested to observe prior to being covered, the Architect may request to see such Work and it shall be uncovered by the Contractor. If such Work is found in accordance with the Contract Documents, the cost of uncovering and replacement shall, by appropriate Change Order, be charged to the State. If such Work is found not to be in accordance with the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall pay such costs unless it is found that this condition was caused by the State or a separate contractor as provided in Article 6 of these General Conditions, in which event the State shall be responsible for the payment of such costs.

UNCOVERING OF WORK. 12.1.1 If a portion of the Work is covered contrary to Construction Manager’s request or direction, or contrary to the requirements of the Contract Documents, it must, if required in writing by City, be uncovered for City's observation and be replaced at Contractor's expense without adjustment of the Contract Time or the Contract Sum. 12.1.2 If a portion of the Work has been covered, which is not required by the Contract Documents to be observed or inspected prior to its being covered and which City has not specifically requested to observe prior to its being covered, City may request to see such Work and it shall be uncovered and replaced by Contractor. If such Work is in accordance with the Contract Documents, the costs of uncovering and replacing the Work shall be added to the Contract Sum by Change Order; and if the uncovering and replacing of the Work extends the Contract Time, an appropriate adjustment of the Contract Time shall be made by Change Order. If such Work is not in accordance with the Contract Documents, Contractor shall pay such costs and shall not be entitled to an adjustment of the Contract Time or the Contract Sum.
UNCOVERING OF WORK. If a portion of the Work is covered without Inspector or Architect approval or not in compliance with the Contract Documents, it must, if required in writing by the District, the Project Inspector, or the Architect, be uncovered for the Project Inspector’s or the Architect’s observation and be corrected, replaced and/or recovered at Developer’s expense without change in the Guaranteed Maximum Price or Contract Time.

If the work uncovered is determined to be in accordance with the Contract Documents, then Contractor shall pay Subcontractor its actual costs to uncover and recover the work. If the work uncovered is determined to not be in accordance with the Contract Documents, then Subcontractor shall bear all costs associated with uncovering the work, remedying the work, and recovering the work.

B. If a portion of the Work has been covered which the Owner and/or Arlington County Inspector has not specifically requested to observe prior to its being covered and is, under the Contract Documents, allowed to be covered without observation of the Owner or applicable law or regulation, the Owner and/or Arlington County Inspector may request to see such Work and it shall be uncovered by the Contractor. If such Work is in accordance with the Contract Documents, costs of uncovering and replacement shall be charged to the Owner and paid to the Contractor. If such Work is not in accordance with the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall pay the costs of uncovering and replacing such Work.
UNCOVERING OF WORK. The Owner may request to examine a portion of the Work that the Design-Builder has covered to determine if the Work has been performed in accordance with the Design-Build Documents. If such Work is in accordance with the Design-Build Documents, the Owner and Design-Builder shall execute a Change Order to adjust the Contract Time and Contract Sum, as appropriate. If such Work is not in accordance with the Design-Build Documents, the costs of uncovering and correcting the Work shall be at the Design-Builder’s expense and the Design-Builder shall not be entitled to a change in the Contract Time unless the condition was caused by the Owner or a separate contractor in which event the Owner shall be responsible for payment of such costs and the Contract Time will be adjusted as appropriate.
