Union Representation for Formal Discussions. The parties agree that consistent with 5 USC 7114(a)(2)(A), the Union as the exclusive representative of unit employees shall be given the opportunity to be present and participate in any formal discussion between one or more representatives of the Agency and one or more employees or their representatives concerning any grievance or any personnel policy or practices or other general condition of employment. To the extent possible, the Agency will give the Union a minimum advance notice of three (3) workdays to enable representation to be provided under this section. The presence of Union representatives, if known to the Agency, will be acknowledged by the Agency at the start of such formal discussions. Union representatives will be given the opportunity to ask questions relative to the matter being discussed on behalf of the employees and may make a brief statement concerning the Union’s position on the matter.

  • UNION REPRESENTATION AND COMMITTEES 7.01 (a) It is mutually agreed that where negotiations are conducted on a joint basis between any or all of the Nursing Homes in the Extendicare chain in the Province of Ontario, the Union will elect or otherwise select a negotiating committee consisting of one (1) representative from each Nursing Home.

Part time employees will be paid at least the minimum shift at straight time Employees serving on the Union's Negotiating Committee shall be paid for lost time from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay, in direct contract negotiations, up to the point of arbitration, for renewal of this Collective Agreement. Upon reference to arbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off with no loss of credits or benefits for the purpose of attending Arbitration Hearings. The Union shall advise the Employer, in writing, the names of its committee. The Employer shall not be obliged to recognize committee members until such time as written notice has been received. The Area Representative may attend meetings at the invitation of the local Union. A representative from may assist in negotiations.
