REPRESENTATION AND COMMITTEES. (The following clauses will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provisions related to Representation and Committees (including Professional Responsibility) that existed in the Hospital's expiring collective agreement:)
REPRESENTATION AND COMMITTEES. The parties recognize the value of nurses' input and participation in committee meetings. All joint Employer-Association meetings shall be scheduled where practical, during the nurse's regular working hours. The Employer will provide replacement staff where operationally required. The employer agrees to pay for time spent during regular working hours for representatives of the Association attending meetings with the Employer.

REPRESENTATION AND COMMITTEES. Union Activity on Premises Access to Premises The Union shall have the right at any time to have the assistance of their Business Representative when dealing or negotiating with the Hospital. Such representative shall have access to the Hospital's premises in order to investigate or assist in the settlement of a grievance. Prior to this investigation, such Business Representative, or designate, will be required to notify the Director of Human Resources, or representative, of presence in the Hospital. The appointment of, and recognition of stewards shall be conditional upon the xxxxxxx being an employee in the bargaining unit with regular duties to Before leaving regular duties to attend to the investigation of a grievance, a xxxxxxx will obtain permission from supervisor to do so, and will report back to supervisor when resuming regular duties. Only a reasonable amount of time shall be consumed during working hours for the investigation of a grievance. When such xxxxxxx investigates a grievance, in a department other than own, shall first advise the other department head or person in charge prior to the investigation of the grievance. Such xxxxxxx shall hold conference in a private area other than a duty area. Labour-Management Committee A Labour-Management Committee shall be set up consisting of two (2) employee representatives of the Union and two (2) representatives of the Hospital. With the mutual agreement of the parties, additional representatives shall be admitted to meetings. The Committee shall concern itself with matters of the following general nature: Improvement of employee relations. moves. Increasing operating efficiency by promoting co-operation in effective economy Improvement of service to the patients and public. Suggestions from employees, questions of working conditions and service (but not grievances concerned with service). Correction of conditions making for grievances and misunderstanding. Promotion of education and training of the staff. such other matters of mutual concern as the parties deem properly within their jurisdiction. Full-time Employees: It is agreed that the topic of a rehabilitation program for drug and alcohol abuse is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. The Committee shall meet at least once per month at a mutually agreeable time and place. When either party submits agenda items, the other party shall respond with their items, if any. REPRESENTATION AND COMMITTEES. 8.01 The Union may elect, appoint or otherwise select and each Hospital will recognize one (1) representative from among Employees in the bargaining unit for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement.
8.02 Union representatives and members of committees have their regular work to perform on behalf of the Hospital. If it is necessary for a local representative member to deal with grievances or other Union business connected with this Agreement during their scheduled hours of work, they shall not leave their work area without first obtaining the permission of the Manager. When resuming their regular work, they shall again report to the Manager. In accordance with this understanding, a local Union representative shall suffer no loss of regular wages for regularly scheduled working hours lost due to attendance at meetings related to the resolution of a grievance, up to but not including arbitration. It is understood that any travel expenses that may be incurred as a result of Union representatives attending grievance meetings or any other proceedings related to the grievance shall be the sole responsibility of the Union.
REPRESENTATION AND COMMITTEES. 7.01 The Union may elect, appoint or otherwise select and the Employer will recognize three (3) Union representatives, one of whom will be the Bargaining Unit President or designate, who may assist employees in the presentation of any grievance arising under the terms of the Collective Agreement.
7.02 Union representatives and members of committees have their regular work to perform on behalf of the Employer. If it is necessary for a representative or a committee member to deal with grievances or other Union business connected with this Agreement during their scheduled hours of work, they shall not leave their work area without first obtaining the permission of the Supervisor or alternate. When resuming their regular work, they shall again report to the Supervisor or alternate. Such permission shall not be unreasonably refused. In accordance with this understanding, a member of the Grievance Committee or a Union representative shall suffer no loss of regular wages for regularly scheduled working hours lost due to attendance at meetings with the Employer up to, but not including, arbitration.
REPRESENTATION AND COMMITTEES. Except as provided herein, the Employer agrees that there will be no loss of earnings for committee members for time spent when meeting with the employer or processing grievances during regular working hours. The maximum amount payable, however, shall not exceed the nurse's straight time daily rate of pay. Notwithstanding the above provision, the salary and applicable benefits of the Negotiating Committee shall be maintained during the first two (2) days of negotiations by the Employer. For any subsequent days required, the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the salary and applicable benefit costs. It is understood and agreed that Union representatives have union duties and responsibilities to perform and they should not leave their regular work to conduct union business without first obtaining approval from their Manager/Director. Such permission shall not be unreasonably denied. When resuming their regular work, the Union representative shall report to their Manager/Director.

D-1 The parties agree that employee representatives and committee members may be from either the full-time or part-time bargaining unit and shall represent both bargaining units. It is understood that the total number of employees as Nurse Representatives or committee members shall not exceed the following:
(a) Nurse Representatives - three (3) Nurse Representatives.
(b) Grievance Committee - three (3) employees - of whom no more than two
