ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. The Union shall name a Shop Committee of not more than five (5) members, at least one (1) of which shall be from the who shall be employees of the Company covered by this Agreement. Matters pertaining to the interpretation, application, or administration of this Agreement shall be discussed and adjusted by the Company and the Shop Committee who shall meet as often as may be deemed necessary or at least once each month during working hours with a prepared agenda of matters to be discussed and adjusted. Only Shop Committee members, a Business Representative, and/or an International Officer of the Union shall be present at meetings with the Company. The Union may designate and the Company shall recognize Shop Stewards and a Shop Stewards for such work areas as shall be agreed by the parties hereto to be reasonable and proper. The Company shall be kept informed of the name of each Shop Xxxxxxx and Shop Stewards and the work area the Union has so designated him. A Shop Xxxxxxx or Shop Xxxxxxx shall be permitted the necessary time during working hours without loss of pay to perform the functions provided by Article hereof for the settlement of a complaint or grievance; he shall not leave his work station except as provided by the said Article and only after having informed his Supervisor as to the nature of his business. The Shop Chairperson shall be available to perform his regular duties for the first four hours of his shift, after which he will be assigned his lunch and be free to perform Union Business for Consolidated employees. He must not leave the Company premises without permission from the General Manager or his designate. The Company will supply adequate office space with a telephone, desk and chairs for the Shop Chairperson to perform his duties. The Company agrees to have the office space furnished and ready for use within days of the ratification of this Agreement. The Shop Committee, Shop Stewards and Shop Stewards shall perform the functions herein provided in such manner as to promote good order and shop discipline and with the least possible interference with the regular duties of their employment.
ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. The Union shall elect or otherwise select a Union committee of four employees; it being understood that the Chairperson of the full-time bargaining unit section may be a member of the Committee. The Employer will recognize and deal with the said Committee on grievances and on any other matter properly arising out of this Agreement, including the negotiations for, or renewal of this Agreement. It is agreed that the Union Representative of Local may be present with the Committee at the request of either the Union or the Employer. The Union acknowledges and agrees that members of the Committee have regular duties to perform in connection with their employment and all activities of members of the Union Committee will be carried on outside regular working hours, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Members of the Union Committee will not leave their duties without first obtaining permission from the Supervisor of the Department or Unit in which they are working, and upon completion of such Union business shall report back to that official Each member of the said Union Committee shall receive his regular pay for all regularly scheduled working hours lost due to his attendance at contract negotiation meetings between the parties, up to and including conciliation, whether on or off the Hospital premises, for which permission has been granted. A Xxxxxxx, and where applicable, members of the Union Committee, shall receive their regular pay for regularly scheduled working hours lost due to attendance at grievance meetings, which shall for the purposes of clarity, cover meetings with a grievance settlement officer appointed under Section of the Labour Relations Act with representatives of the Hospital, whether on or outside the Hospital premises, for which permission has been granted. The Union agrees to supply the Employer with the names of the members constituting the Committee in duplicate, and will keep such list up to date at all times. It is mutually agreed that one of the duplicate copies shall be posted on the bulletin board by the Union. The Committee and the Employer shall meet once each month at times mutually agreed on, providing there is business for their joint consideration. Necessity for a meeting will be indicated by letter from either party to the other party, containing an agenda of the subjects to be discussed.

ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select Union Stewards for the purpose of representingemployees in the presentation of grievances. The Company agrees to recogniseeight Union Stewards in total. The Company shall be by the Union of the names of the Union Stewards and the areas, if any, they are representing and any subsequent changes made thereto. The Union shall also notify the Company of other Union Representativesin the Plant and their official capacity with the Union. The Company agrees to recognise and deal with a Union Grievance Committee of not more than two employees plus the local Union Presidentor Plant Chairman. A Union Xxxxxxx shall be allowed reasonable time off to attend grievance meetings provided for under the Grievance Procedure Article and which are scheduled during regular working subject however, to first obtaining permission (which shall not be unreasonably withheld) from his immediate supervisor. Such time will include a reasonable allowance for preparation time prior to each grievance meeting, subject however, to first obtaining permission (which shall not be unreasonably withheld). A Union Xxxxxxx shall receive his regular hourly rate for time lost during his regular working hours in connection with his attendance at such meetings. Subject to the requirements of operations, if an authorized union official, not employed by the Company, wants to speak to a local union official employed by the Company about a grievance or other official union business which requires him to speak to the employee during working hours, he shall advise the Human Resources Manager or other designated representativeof the Company. Permission to speak to the local Union Official in an appropriate place shall not be unreasonably refused.
ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. It is agreed that a Union Xxxxxxx may be appointed by the Union for each project. If, on a multiple-towered project there are twenty (20) or more employees in the direct employ of the Employer who is covered by this Agreement, then two (2) Stewards may be appointed. The Union shall be required to notify the Employer of the name of the Union Xxxxxxx and the location of the project, in writing. It is further agreed that the Union Xxxxxxx shall be one of the last two (2) men retained by the Employer on the project. It is further agreed that the Union Xxxxxxx will not be excluded from overtime work and that he shall not be discriminated for, or against. The Union acknowledges that the Union Xxxxxxx has regular duties to perform as an employee of the Employer, Union business will not be transacted during regular working hours. The Business Representative of the Union shall have access to all working areas during working hours, but in no case shall his visit interfere with the progress of the work. When visiting a job, he will first advise and identify himself to the job superintendent or other supervisory personnel of the Employers.
ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. (a) The Business Manager and/or Business Representative of the Local Union and/or Council shall have access to all jobs of each Employer during working hours, but in no case shall his visits unduly interfere with the progress of work. When visiting a job, he will first report to the Employer Superintendent or other supervisory personnel of the Employer in charge of the job. In circumstances where the Employer does not have the authority to allow access, the Employer agrees to make a joint application with the Union to the owner to gain such access. Each Employer agrees to recognize the right of the Union to select or otherwise appoint up to a maximum of two (2) stewards per company to assist employees in presenting any complaints or grievances they may have to representative of management. The Union shall be required to notify the job xxxxxxx of names of stewards before they will be recognized. The xxxxxxx shall be allowed a reasonable amount of time to deal with Union business on the project. The stewards, provided they are capable of performing the regular work, shall be the last men retained by the Employer. Where a job is performed within the geographical jurisdiction of a Local Union, which is outside the geographical jurisdiction of the Local Union having geographic jurisdiction over the Employer's point of origin, the Employer acknowledges the right of the Local Union where the work is performed to appoint a job xxxxxxx for the duration of the project. The Local Union shall be required to notify the job xxxxxxx of the name of the job xxxxxxx before he will be recognized. The job xxxxxxx shall be allowed a reasonable amount of time to deal with proper Union business directly connected with the project. The job xxxxxxx shall be the last man retained by the Employer on such job provided he is capable of performing the regular work.
ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. The Company recognizes the right of the Union to elect or appoint a Plant Committee comprised of three (3) Committeepersons plus a Plant Committee Chairperson, all of whom shall be assigned to the permanent day shift. The Plant Committee shall be responsible for meeting with management for purposes of administration of this collective agreement, and to represent zones as may be agreed between the parties, for the handling of complaints and grievances and for matters arising from time to time under this collective agreement. In addition to the Plant Committee described in Article the Company recognizes the right Union to elect or appoint two (2) employees on each of the three (3) rotating shifts as Off-Shift Committeepersons among those working to handle complaints and grievances on their respective Such Off-Shift Committeepersons shall rotate with their respective and shall have jurisdiction to handle complaints and grievances for their respective rotating only, in zones as may be agreed between the parties. While on rotation to the day shift, the Off-Shift Committeepersons may share jurisdiction with the Plant Committee within the zones as may be agreed upon. Off-shift Committeepersons shall be compensated at their regular hourly rate for time spent on such Union business, subject to the provisions of Articles and An additional Off-Shift Committeeperson shall be added or reduced, as the case may be, when the population of the shift exceeds drops below or drops below An alternate may be appointed to replace a Committeeperson, Off-Shift Committeeperson or Plant Committee Chairperson, as the case may be, whenever such person is absent, from the same shift as the person being replaced. All Committeepersons and members of the Plant Committee, including alternates, must be employees of the Company with seniority. The Union agrees to notify the Company in writing of the of its representatives outlined above, the zones they represent, and any subsequent in the names, and the Company shall not be required or responsible to recognize such persons until written notification from the Union has been received. ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. The Union shall elect or otherwise select up to eight (8) members of the bargaining units, who shall function as the Union Committee. One of the representatives so selected or elected will be the Union Chairperson. The Union shall furnish the Employer from time to time with an update on the current Union Committee representatives. The Union Chairperson will be assigned to the day shift unless mutually agreed otherwise by the parties. If the Chairperson is not working on the day shift she will exchange her shift with the least senior employee on the day in her classification. At the end of her tenure as Union Chairperson the employees will revert back to their original shift, or the position of their last successful posting. The Union Committee will meet with the Employer on a regular basis as is mutually agreed upon to discuss and resolve any grievances and other matters that either party may raise. Such meetings will occur on the Employer’s premises and during the day shift during regularly scheduled working hours. Either party may request a meeting which shall be held within five (5)calendar days of the request. The Union Committee shall have the right at any time to have the assistance of representatives of CAW. Normally such representatives shall have access to the Employer’s premises. The Employer agrees that the Union Chairperson shall be retained at work during any layoffs or cutbacks in employment during her term of office, as long as they are qualified to perform any available bargaining unit work. The Union recognizes that members of the Union Committee and Stewards have regular duties to perform on behalf of the Employer and such persons will not leave their duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate Supervisor. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld and on completion of such Union Business such persons shall report back to that Supervisor. ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. The Bargaining Unit shall continue to have access to the Board’s courier service for communication with its members and with the Board’s representatives. The Board shall provide Occasional Teachers with suitable meeting space on request, free of charge, provided this does not interrupt the instructional program. It is understood that any additional custodial costs incurred by the Board as a result of making meeting space available to the Union shall be borne by the Union.
