UNION STEWARDS & COMMITTEES. 8.01 The Union may choose one (1) xxxxxxx who must have seniority status as defined in Article 11:01 to assist in processing grievances as outlined under the grievance procedure. This number may be adjusted by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union. 8.02 There shall be three (3) Union Committees composed of not more than two (2) members each, who must have seniority status. 8.03 The functions of the three (3) committees shall be as follows: (a) to act as the grievance committee referred to in the grievance procedure; (b) to meet with representatives of the Company at pre- determined times once every two months to discuss matters of mutual interest to the Union and the Company; (c) to represent the Union during contract negotiations with the Company. At any meetings with the Company, the Committees may be accompanied by a full-time representative of the Union. 8.04 The Company shall be notified in writing by the proper officials of the Union of the name of the xxxxxxx and the committee members, and of any changes in same, before the Company will recognize them. 8.05 It is agreed that during working hours the discussion of grievances between the xxxxxxx and employees will, as far as is practical, be kept to a minimum. 8.06 If it is necessary for the xxxxxxx, committee member or other employee to take time off during working hours in connection with Union business, he/she must obtain permission from his/her immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not unreasonably be withheld. 8.07 The xxxxxxx and committee members who in accordance with the preceding section have received authorization, will be paid their regular basic hourly rate for all time spent attending scheduled meetings with Company representatives. 8.08 Other than specifically permitted in this Article or provided elsewhere in this Agreement, there will be no solicitation of members or other Union activity during working hours. 8.09 Use current Appendix “A” as appropriate benchmark unless parties mutually agree to deviate in exceptional circumstances or unless Article 21.03 is triggered.

UNION STEWARDS & COMMITTEES. 8.01 ‌ 3.01 No individual employee or group of employee shall undertake to represent the Union at meetings with the Company without proper authorization of the Union. In order that this may be carried out, the Union will supply the Company with the names of its Business Representatives. Similarly, the Company will supply the Union with a list of its supervisory or other personnel with whom the Union may be required to transact business. 3.02 Any employee, who so desires it, shall have the right to review his personnel record in the presence of the Union Xxxxxxx and a member of Management, upon making a request for same in advance. Such review is to take place at such time and place within the unit as may be designated by Management. If any employee so affected objects to the material contained in such record such objection may be made the subject matter of a grievance and be processed in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 herein. Times designated by Management will be reasonable. At any at meetings with the Company, the Committees may be accompanied by a full-time representative Employer without proper authorization of the Union. 8.04 3.02 The Company Union shall have the right to appoint or otherwise select eight (8) stewards and one (1) Plant Chair from amongst employees within the bargaining unit who have completed six (6) months of employment. The Union shall notify the Employer in writing of the names of each Xxxxxxx and each Committee Member before Management shall be notified required to recognize any person so selected. (a) The Union acknowledges that the Stewards have regular duties to perform on behalf of the Employer and may not leave their regular duties without first receiving consent from their immediate supervisor. Wherever possible, any meetings, discussion or investigations should be conducted off hours and no event shall occur without preapproval from their immediate supervisor. In exceptional circumstances, the xxxxxxx may, with the consent of their supervisor, be permitted to leave their regular duties for a reasonable length of time without loss of pay, to function as a xxxxxxx as provided in writing this Collective Agreement. Such consent and pre-approval from the supervisor shall not be unreasonably withheld keeping in mind the Xxxxxxx’x regular duties and production needs of the Employer and the issues being addressed by the proper officials Xxxxxxx. (b) The parties agree to hold monthly Labour Management meetings on dates to be established on an annual basis and scheduled to accommodate the plant Chair’s regular schedule. The parties agree that any Stewards present on the day of the meeting should attend provided that not more than one (1) Xxxxxxx from each department will be permitted to attend. 3.04 In conjunction with the Employer’s orientation, the Xxxxxxx shall be given fifteen (15) minutes at the end of such orientation for the purposes of union orientation with the new employee. 3.05 A Representative of the Union of will be entitled to visit the name of the xxxxxxx and the committee members, and of any changes in same, before the Company will recognize them. 8.05 It is agreed that facility covered by this Collective Agreement during working hours at reasonable times or off hours to interview employees or to inspect working conditions, provided the discussion Union Representative first reports to the Plant Manager or the managers designate and complies with the Employer’s Health and Safety, Food Safety and Security regulations. The Union Representative agrees that, wherever possible, he will endeavour to meet with employees during their breaks or at lunch so as to avoid any disruption to production. (a) The Employer agrees that whenever an employee is subject to any action that is intended to be part of grievances between an employee’s disciplinary record, a xxxxxxx will be present. Provided that the xxxxxxx and employees willis working at the time of the meeting, as far as is practical, be kept the employee may request a specific xxxxxxx. The employee may request that the xxxxxxx leave the meeting. This clause shall not apply to discussions that are of an operational nature which do not require the presence of a minimumxxxxxxx. 8.06 (b) In the event a xxxxxxx is not available, this condition will be brought to the attention of the employee. The action that becomes part of the employee’s disciplinary record will then be postponed until the xxxxxxx is available. (c) If it any disciplinary action is necessary for taken without the xxxxxxx, committee member any conclusions, verbal or other employee to take time off during working hours in connection with Union business, he/she must obtain permission from his/her immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not unreasonably be withheld. 8.07 The xxxxxxx and committee members who in accordance with the preceding section have received authorizationwritten, will be null and void except in the case where the employee requested the xxxxxxx to leave. 3.07 A Negotiating Committee will be established consisting of a Union Representative and not more than three (3) bargaining unit employees appointed or elected by the Union. Employees on the Negotiating Committee, who are required to be in attendance at negotiating sessions, shall be paid their regular basic hourly rate for all time eight (8) hours per day for a maximum of five (5) days spent attending scheduled meetings with Company representativesat negotiations. These hours shall not be included for the purposes of calculating overtime entitlements. 8.08 Other than specifically permitted in this Article or provided elsewhere in this Agreement, there will be no solicitation of members or other Union activity during working hours. 8.09 Use current Appendix “A” as appropriate benchmark unless parties mutually agree to deviate in exceptional circumstances or unless Article 21.03 is triggered.
