UNIVERSITY YEAR. ‌ The University year shall be divided into three (3) semesters: Fall, Winter, and Spring-Summer from August 25 through August 24. D 20.1 BASIC APPOINTMENTS‌ Appointments for two semesters: Faculty members will be assigned to teach two (2) semesters in the three (3) semester year; provided that no faculty member will be assigned to the spring-summer semester as one semester in the basic two (2) semester appointment, without the involved faculty member's consent. The basic two (2) semester contract will be for thirty-two (32) weeks of teaching and associated duties. Payment for the performance of duties under the basic two (2) semester appointment will be spread over twelve (12) months in twenty- six (26) bi-weekly payments; provided that a faculty member must refund any money paid in advance of duties performed under such arrangement if duties under such two (2) semester appointment are not performed, and provided further that upon completion of all teaching duties full payment of the remaining balance due under said contract will be available to the faculty member upon request. For fiscal years containing twenty seven (27) bi-weekly pay days, the parties are in agreement that the twelve (12) months of payments referenced above will be divided into twenty seven (27) bi-weekly payments during the fiscal year, rather than twenty six (26) bi- weekly payments. In addition to the above duties, the faculty member should be available on the campus for those functions which are basic to the organization and orderly completion of each semester as follows: Academic advising and administering final examinations during the final examination period, if such exams are given. If final exams are not given, the faculty member will be available in his/her office during the scheduled examination times and will keep regularly scheduled office hours during the final examination period. In addition, the University will have the right to require each department to have a representative available during the open registration periods to answer student questions about that department's courses. Further, faculty members will submit semester grades and grades which replace incompletes by the deadlines published by the registrar. For semester grades, this deadline will be no earlier than 72 hours after the end of the final examination period, and for grades replacing incompletes, no earlier than 72 hours after the four week period allowed for students to submit remaining course work.

  • Duty Year A. The duty year for teachers shall not exceed 187 days, including days for professional activities. B. Except when school is delayed due to inclement weather, all bargaining unit members shall be released two and one-half (2.5) hours early on the workdays preceding the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. C. Bargaining unit members shall be provided with time within the work year for the following duties and responsibilities: Parent Conferences: 1. Two (2) days for parent conferences 2. Staff Development: a. Two (2) days prior to the start of school shall be used for professional and staff development activities, as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee. b. Half-days within the workday and throughout the work year, as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

  • Trial Service Period An employee who has satisfactorily completed their probationary period and who is subsequently appointed to a position in another classification shall serve a twelve (12) month trial service period, in accordance with Section 10.1.3. 10.4.1 The trial service period shall provide the department with the opportunity to observe the employee's work and to train and aid the employee in adjustment to the position, and to revert such an employee whose work performance fails to meet required standards. 10.4.2 An employee who has been appointed from one classification to another classification within the same or different department and who fails to satisfactorily complete the trial service period shall be reverted to a vacant position within that department and classification from which the employee was appointed. 10.4.3 Where no such vacancy exists, such employee shall be given fifteen (15) calendar days' written notice prior to being placed on a Reversion Recall List for their former department and former classification and being removed from the payroll. 10.4.4 An employee’s trial service period may be extended up to three (3) additional months by written mutual agreement between the department, the employee and the Union, subject to approval by the Seattle Human Resources Director prior to expiration of the trial service period. 10.4.5 Employees who have been reverted during the trial service period shall not have the right to appeal the reversion. 10.4.6 The names of regular employees who have been reverted for purposes of re- employment in their former department shall be placed upon a Reversion Recall List for the same classification from which they were promoted or transferred for a period of one (1) year from the date of reversion. 10.4.7 If a vacancy is to be filled in a department and a valid Reversion Recall List for the classification for that vacancy contains the name(s) of eligible employees who have been removed from the payroll from that classification and from that department, such employees shall be reinstated in order of their length of service in that classification. The employee who has the most service in that classification shall be the first reinstated. 10.4.8 An employee whose name is on a Valid Reversion Recall List for a specific job classification who accepts employment with the City in that same job classification shall have their name removed from the Reversion Recall List. Refusal to accept placement from a Reversion Recall List to a position the same, or essentially the same, as that which the employee previously held shall cause an employee’s name to be removed from the Reversion Recall List, which shall terminate rights to reemployment under this Reversion Recall List provision. 10.4.9 An employee whose name is on a valid Reversion Recall List who accepts employment with the City in another class and/or department shall have their name removed from the Reversion Recall List. 10.4.10 A reverted employee shall be paid at the step of the range which the employee normally would have received had the employee not been appointed.

  • Synopsis and Benefit to Xxxxxxx County The Agreement continues the contractual relationship between the Oregon State Marine Board and Xxxxxxx County through its Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office will be reimbursed for marine law enforcement patrols, boater education, and boat inspections conducted throughout the County.

  • Work Year The full-time work year for all employees employed in EA and ECE job classes shall be a minimum of 194 work days to correspond with the school year calendar.

Executive, administrative and professional employees designated in the Annual Salary Ordinance with the "Z" symbol shall not receive extra compensation for holiday work but may be granted time off equivalent to the time worked at the rate of-one-and-one-half times for work on the holiday.

  • Multi-Year Planning The CAPS will be in a form acceptable to the LHIN and may be required to incorporate (1) prudent multi-year financial forecasts; (2) plans for the achievement of performance targets; and (3) realistic risk management strategies. It will be aligned with the LHIN’s then current Integrated Health Service Plan and will reflect local LHIN priorities and initiatives. If the LHIN has provided multi-year planning targets for the HSP, the CAPS will reflect the planning targets.
