Duty Year. A. The duty year for teachers shall not exceed 187 days, including days for professional activities.
B. Except when school is delayed due to inclement weather, all bargaining unit members shall be released two and one-half (2.5) hours early on the workdays preceding the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
C. Bargaining unit members shall be provided with time within the work year for the following duties and responsibilities: Parent Conferences:
1. Two (2) days for parent conferences 2. Staff Development:
a. Two (2) days prior to the start of school shall be used for professional and staff development activities, as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
b. Half-days within the workday and throughout the work year, as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
Duty Year. A. The duty year for media, instructional, nursing and cafeteria assistants will not exceed 187 work days. The duty year for Secretary VI will not exceed 197 work days.
B. The duty year for Custodian IV will not exceed 210 work days.
Duty Year. The basic duty year for regular full-time teachers shall consist of 187 duty days, which includes seven (7) PIR days, for teachers with 5 or more years experience in the district and 189 duty days, which includes nine (9) PIR days, for teachers with 4 or less years experience in the district as scheduled by the school district. For purposes of this Article, a duty day shall mean a day when the teacher is performing services as prescribed by the school district.
Duty Year. 1. The duty year will be no more than 187 for returning teachers. The duty year for teachers new to the district will be no longer than 191 days –4 days longer than returning teachers.
Duty Year. 1. The contract year for employees assigned to a single school district will correspond to the contract year delineated in the Negotiated Agreement for employees of that school district. The contract year for employees assigned to multiple school districts will be determined by school principals and the Cooperative Director with input from the employee, and shall be comparable in length to the contract year worked by employees assigned to a single school district.
2. Any duty day provided for a specific purpose (e.g. collaboration, teacher work day, grade recording day, parent-teacher conferences, in-service, etc.) in the school calendar for employees of a school district will also be granted to employees assigned to that school district.
3. A joint employer - employee in-service committee shall be appointed for the purpose of providing input on the scheduling and content of professional development days, including the beginning of the year orientation session(s). Committee members shall be appointed by the Association and the Director. The committee shall be composed of equal numbers of persons appointed by the Director and the Association.
4. The salary schedule is based upon the regular school calendar as set forth in this provision. Any employee whose assignment exceeds the regular employee work year will be additionally compensated on a per diem basis. The per diem amount will be determined by dividing the total salary by the number of contract days.
Duty Year. Annual appointments will consist of a twelve (12) month, salaried, duty- year, starting July 1st and ending June 30th and run concurrently with the Fiscal Year. Except as explicitly provided in this subdivision, annual appointments are not subject to the provisions of Article 10, Section D. Initial appointments begin on the first day of employment and run through June 30th. Coaches with annual appointments shall receive holidays as provided in Section D, Subd. 1 and shall additionally receive Juneteenth and Independence Day (July 4th) as holidays.
Duty Year. The duty year shall consist of 176 teaching, in-service and preparation days. The duty year shall consist of 162 teaching days minimum, not to exceed 164 teaching days, maximum of 11-13 days of preparation/in-service (not to exceed 8 days of in- service). One full preparation day will be scheduled prior to school starting and another full preparation day scheduled following the final day of school. The remaining three preparation days will be placed at the end of the first grading period, the second grading period, and the third grading period. Preparation day is an uninterrupted day spent in a teacher’s assigned duty working on content, as the teacher deems necessary, with no meetings scheduled (except for the first 4 teacher prep days as outlined in Article 5). Teachers at the high school and grades 6 through 8 would be limited to teaching six periods in a seven-period day, with the remaining period being reserved for classroom preparation. (2017) All contract days shall be Monday through Friday, exclusively. Teachers will not be required to report for duty on days when student attendance is not required due to inclement weather. On days when students are dismissed early due to inclement weather or other emergencies, teachers shall be allowed to leave at the discretion of their building principal. (2017)
Duty Year. Ten-month Employees: The duty year for ten (10) month office professionals and for ten (10) month paraeducators shall consist of the same duty days as ten (10) month teachers, and shall include all holidays listed in Article 12. School-based office professionals/clerical employees do not work when schools are closed for winter or spring break. Twelve-month Employees: The duty year for twelve (12) month office professionals shall consist of all weekdays between July 1 and June 30 including paid holidays. Central office employees will not be required to work more than two (2) of the days that the office is open when schools are closed for winter holiday and spring vacation, or other extended school closings except those necessitated by inclement weather or national emergency. Every effort will be made to obtain coverage on a volunteer basis. The schedule for these employees, to be worked out by the department heads, shall assure that an adequate staff is available at all times to carry out business operations. Central office employees shall be given compensatory time for any time worked during the winter holidays or spring vacation, or other extended school closings, except those necessitated by inclement weather or national emergency. School-based office professionals/clericals do not work on days when schools are closed for winter or spring break.
Duty Year. The Duty Year for principals will run from July 1 to June 30 of each year, pursuant to the duty day provisions set forth below.
Duty Year. The teacher’s duty year and vacation days shall be as adopted by the School Board, and the teacher agrees to teach on those legal holidays on which the School Board is authorized to conduct school If the School Board so determines. In the event a duty day is lost due to any emergency, the teacher agrees to perform duties on such other day in lieu thereof as determined by the School Board.
