Common use of Urgent Personal Business Leave Clause in Contracts

Urgent Personal Business Leave. a. Each employee shall be entitled to up to five (5) days per year for urgent personal business leave. With the exception of inclement weather, a written statement of intent to be absent shall be submitted to the principal (or other appropriate administrator) at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the expected absence. The principal (or other appropriate administrator) may make exception to the twenty-four (24) hour requirement in case of demonstrated need. Urgent personal business leave must be used only to conduct personal business of any nature that cannot be scheduled on a non-duty day. Urgent personal business leave may not be used on consecutive duty days or on the first or last duty day of school for staff except with permission of the principal (or other appropriate administrator).
