Uses of Sick Leave. Sick leave shall be granted to an employee upon approval of the Employer and for the following reasons: X. One “significant other” may be designated by the employee stands in and may be approved by the place Executive Director as “immediate family”' for the purpose of parents (loco parentis). If the illness or injury is life threatening, the employee's brother, sister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law and father-in-law shall be included in the definition of immediate family for this section. Life threatening illness or injury shall “Significant other,” as used herein, is intended to refer to an individual who stands in lieu of a spouse. Said request for designation may be defined made to the Director no more than once in a calendar year; the designation must be in effect at least thirty (30) calendar days in advance of any request for leave as an injury that could reasonably cause death set forth herein. C. For purposes of subsection A (e.g.2) herein, cancer, serious heart condition, etc.); B.
