CONVERSION OF UNUSED SICK LEAVE. Those employees covered under this agreement who are eligible or who become eligible to retire shall be entitled to convert accrued but unused sick leave to a cash payment on the following basis: Employees may receive, after completion often (10) years of continuous service with the County, a cash payment in the amount of one (1) hour's pay for each four (4) hours of accrued but unused sick leave at the time of retirement. The maximum payment under this provision shall not exceed two hundred forty (240) hours of pay calculated at one-quarter (1/4) of nine hundred sixty (960) hours of sick leave.

CONVERSION OF UNUSED SICK LEAVE. Section 1. An employee who is both eligible for and elects to take his public employee retirement benefits shall be entitled to covert accrued but unused leave to a cash payment on the following basis: An employee may receive, after completion of ten (10) years of continuous service with the Sheriff's Department, a cash payment in the amount of one (1) hour's pay for each four (4) hours of accrued but unused sick leave at the time of retirement. The maximum payment under this provision shall not exceed two hundred eighty (280) hours of pay. For the purpose of this provision, retirement shall be considered that criteria established for retirement from active service with the Department at the time of separation under the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).

Employees who are officially eligible to retire in compliance with PERS shall be entitled to convert accrued but unused sick leave to a cash payment on the following basis: Employees may receive, after completion of ten (10) years of continuous service with the City of Martins Ferry, a cash payment in the amount of one (1) hour's pay for each four (4) hours of accrued but unused sick leave at the time of retirement or death. The maximum payment under this provision shall not exceed six-hundred (600) hours of pay calculated at one-fourth (1/4) of the total hours of sick leave accrued but unused.

CONVERSION OF UNUSED SICK LEAVE. Section 16.1 Conversion at Retirement Those employees covered by the terms of this Agreement who retire from the employ of the City, shall at the time of retirement from the City be entitled to convert their accrued, but unused sick leave to a cash payment on the following basis: o Employees may receive, after completion of ten (10) years of continuous service with the City, a cash payment in the amount of one (1) hour’s pay for each two (2) hours of accrued, but unused sick leave at their time of retirement. The maximum payment under this provision shall not exceed twelve thousand dollars ($12,000) for any year covered by this agreement. o The employees who elect to retire after twenty-five (25) years of credit in the retirement system, or who qualify for a disability retirement, may convert unused sick leave to a cash payment of one (1) hour’s pay for every two (2) hours of accrued, but unused sick leave. The maximum payment under the provision shall not exceed seventeen thousand five hundred dollars ($17,500) for any year covered by this agreement.
CONVERSION OF UNUSED SICK LEAVE. Upon retirement, teachers retiring after June 30, 1984 shall be compensated for each unused sick day. Compensation shall be at the rate of $32.00, effective July 1, 2010 and $40.00, effective July 1, 2011 for each unused accumulated sick day up to two hundred twenty five (225) days. All such monies shall be paid into the employee’s Section 403(b) IRC Tax Sheltered Annuity, as a non-elective direct employer contribution, without a cash option. Upon receipt of the notification from the employee of the intent to retire, the District shall forward all paperwork for establishing a Section 403(b) IRC Tax Sheltered Annuity account if necessary. This amount is to be included as if it were a portion of the contract salary as the final year’s full salary. The retirement is construed as meaning that the retirement is based on the New York State laws. A person who leaves this system and is not entitled to retirement compensation at that time is not entitled to the benefits of this article. Teachers shall notify the District in writing of their intent to retire by May 30th of the year preceding their retirement if at all possible.
CONVERSION OF UNUSED SICK LEAVE. (a) An employee who retires shall be entitled, as part of the employee's final pay, to a lump sum payment of one-half (1/2) of all of the employee's accrued and unused sick leave not to exceed a maximum payout of 1440 hours (1/2 of 2880 hours equal 1440 hour maximum payout). The payment will be based upon the employee's hourly rate on the last date of employment and will eliminate all accrued and unused sick leave. To be eligible, an employee must have at least ten (10) years of full-time employment with the Employer. "
