VACANCIES/POSTINGS. A. Whenever a bargaining unit vacancy is authorized to be filled, it will be first offered on a seniority basis, within 30 days, to those full-time officers at the campus where the vacancy occurs; any resulting vacancies shall be posted college wide and filled based on seniority. B. During the pendency of the vacancy, coverage will be offered to full-time officers at the campus based on seniority. C. After a vacancy is authorized to be filled, the College shall form a screening committee in accordance with the College’s established hiring practices. The committee will be comprised of one or two Lieutenants, the Union President or designee, and up to two additional individuals named by the Director. The primary goal of the committee is to identify the most qualified applicants for the position and recommend finalists to the Director. D. In the event of a vacancy or a newly created position, Employees who meet the qualifications of the position shall be given the opportunity to request transfer on the basis of seniority.
