Common use of Vacation Leave Deferral Clause in Contracts

Vacation Leave Deferral. With the approval of the Union, an employee may, for any reason, make a one (1) time only scheduled vacation leave deferral while working under this Agreement. A deferral may be from one (1) to twenty (20) days and shall constitute the one (1) time for any reason deferral. Medical deferrals may also be granted on a case-by-case basis when agreed upon by the Employer and the Union and shall not count toward the one (1) time “for any reason” deferral. Medical deferrals may occur before or after a scheduled vacation.

They must defer when contacted by the Vacation Scheduling Committee prior to selecting any other forty (40) hour blocks. A deferral may be from one (1) to twenty four (204) days and shall constitute the one forty (140) time for any reason deferralhour blocks. Medical deferrals may also be are granted on a case-by-case basis when basis, agreed upon to by the Employer and the Union Union, and shall do not count toward towards the one (1) time “for any reason” deferral.
